I’ve just received an email about this and I’m tempted to give it a punt as I’d recently signed up to their year of next day delivery for £1. Use code PROTEIN25 to get this for £25. Shipping on orders under £49 is £3.99, or free over that amount.

It seems like a lot of protein for the money, so I’d be interested on hearing from anyone that’s tried this.

Product description from the website is pasted below, as I know these usually spark a debate on soy/ sweeteners etc:

If you're on a budget you can't beat this for the price. Don't listen to the anti soy people, it's a perfectly good form of protein and won't turn you into a girl after getting through half a tub if that's what you're worried about

I use regularly. Soy is not whey, but is still a "complete" protein, and at £25+postage for a 4kg tub that is 24g protein per 30g serving its worth it. Sure it takes a proper good shake to mix well enough and it isn't as "nice" as the stuff you might pay 2-3x the price for, but it's good enough, a good price, and a good deal.

As long as the tub doesn't explode during transit (edited)

Bought this once and persisted for a while then dumped it as far too gritty.

Is that the story of you buying it or digesting it?

Cheap for a reason. Buy with your eyes open and read the ingredients list carefully. Protein content artificially spiked by addition of glutamine.

Quick search on Google for protein spiking glutamine peptide... (edited)

And… glutamine peptides are good for you when training.

Come on then link any product at this price point or any at the non discounted price without soy?

Cheap and cheerful , at that price its not going to be the best but did not expect it to be , if you are on a budget go for it

I bought this after seeing a deal here. Should have stuck to and will be going back to, Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass. This has a very bitter powder taste ( I bought Vanilla flavour) and I've seen very little gain compared to when I used Serious Mass.
    ah99999's avatar
Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass is a mass gainer (lots of calories) not just a protein powder. So assuming you're training right (it sounds like you were!) you'd make much more gains on the mass gainer than just protein.

This stuff is vile and gave me the runs, avoid like a wide berth

This is great if you can get the chocolate flavour....the others are painful to get through.

this is horrible to drink, nice with greek yogurt

This is the most revoltingly vile protein powder that has ever existed - I'm shocked they still sell it (Or that people must still be buying it for that matter).

It's like drinking liquid sand, it's a punishment to put this stuff in your mouth. But no pain no gain am I right??

It’s supposed to work not taste nice, kinda like medicine

Id rather just eat red meat and eggs tbh

    Much cheaper

Look for something above 11% of leucine.

Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. If you wait around for deals and snap up loads of those deals when they appear - you can do better. I just got several 500g bags of whey from bodybuilding warehouse for £5 each inc delivery.

Are there any good deals going on now?

I bought this as the price is really good and thought I’d try some protein.

Arrived a couple days late and the container seems to be broken in the box which is strange as there is bubble wrap around it and the box looks ok overall.

Will update what the company says to this.

Did you ever get a reply from them about this? My delivery was the same but the lid was off and over half the tub was in the box (and pouring through the gaps). I have emailed them every day for the past 2 weeks and they haven't responded at all. Last time I use them that's for sure.

    Got it, it's good.
    Keep in mind:
    - Although soy protein is a good source of protein it's slow absorption. I have it throughout the day, but right after workout better to have whey.
    - great for having with yogurt, milky cereal or for microwave cakes. Don't recommend to drink as a shake (doesn't mix great)
