Actually there's a whole bunch of free in GOG if you look in the Autumn Sale page and scroll down a it.

    Approx 20 - 30 games to grab!

Thanks for letting me know though. Hopefully there's a few more people that may have missed it like me.

    The Elder Scrolls before consoles!

    No dumbed-down controls.

Character and especially custom classes which you could really customise: need more points to distribute for your special class? Why not give them Critical Weak to X or Z. That was a deep role playing system, and played well enough.

Morrowind already toned that down, Oblivion even more, continuing with Skyrim. By TES VI, it might be as roleplaying as those phone games which claim to be a RPG

While the nostalgia is great and the Daggerfall Unity
    gog.com/en/…cut
(also free), makes it possible to play on modern PCs without DOS box I think I will give it a miss.

As a more modern gamer, best thing I did was get Morroblivion. All the gameplay and detail of Morrowind, with updated graphics and a few quality of life upgrades like quest logs, maps and fast travel from oblivion. Loving it!

Today's gamers largely can't get their heads around what we had to play.

    We were spoiled!
Gameplay on a lot of the classics was better than a lot of the games that are out these days.

I bought Arena when it came out. I didn’t really get on with it to be honest. I put in a fair few hours in to it to try and enjoy it, as I’d paid £40 for it which was a lot for a game in those days.
I skipped Daggerfall and Morrowind and got Oblivion.
However, I’ve put more hours in to Skyrim than any other game by a long way. For me that’s only around 400hrs (nowhere near many people’s count).

Currently running Skyrim with 180gb worth of mods . It looks current gen and I’m still finding new things, people and places all the time.

    Starfield tomorrow !
