Teach them young they say. Get prepared for life on the streets with the other kids on the block, is there a toy machete by any chance? Asking for a friend

I had a real swiss army knife when I was 5 bought for me at an antiques fair. Still use it today. For my 8th birthday I also had a .22 air rifle to shoot under supervision. Never have maimed or injured myself or anyone, while several of my school friends who grew up in a protective bubble have all caused havoc and almost blinded themselves with BB guns or alike. Personally I don't like the idea of a child having a toy knife as it associates the real object with harmlessness. What can be learned? Teach a child how a knife works and how to use and carry it safely like you would for any other tool.

The sort of degenerates that go round stabbing people on 'the scoreboard' wouldn't be interested in a tool such as a swiss army knife anyway, firstly few of them have locking blades, and secondly a kitchen knife is bigger, cheaper and more menacing for the little cowards to take to school with.

Unfortunately this country now has strict rules on locking blades at the expense of a real safety mechanism, despite the fact that most knife crime occurs with large fixed blades which are illegal to carry anyway. (edited)
