Transpenne Express have launched a low ticket option for those able to travel during a general part of the day rather than a specific time. The discounted tickets are via Seatfrog, with discount of between 25% and 50% of TransPennine Express Advance Purchase standard ticket prices. Some example prices

How does it work?

1. Head to Seatfrog Secret Fare
2. Enter your chosen journey and travel date
3. Choose a time window (morning, afternoon or evening)
4. Seatfrog will email you your discounted ticket with your booked time 24 hours before you depart,

    Similar to what Avanti are doing, pity trains get cancelled so often that this may mean this isnt that great of a deal.

    Heat for those who use the train network though

    Shocking company still even though it’s now under government control. Can’t trust them with any train. Quicker to get your push bike out.

    try Lumo, the ongoing price is possibly more comeptitive than elsewhere if you book in advance
