    Rubbish:

    * only supports 2.5" drives
    * only supports up to 5Gbps, not SATA 3's 6Gbps maximum

    This is because it's just a USB 3.0 type-A adapter with a type-C connector swapped on, so it doesn't make use of the power delivery and 10Gbps speeds that USB-C supports. Quite possibly the lowest-effort product to ever exist.

    I actually prefer the Sabrent versions but please explain why a 2.5 inch Hard drive requires power delivery? Also not many will need the speeds you mention even when connected to SSD.

    Not saying is a good deal but no power delivery is not an issue for this purpose

    Does anyone make something like this that supports 3.5" drives without an extra power connector? It should be possible, USB C Power Delivery can supply 12V, or 20V with a step-down converter. Nobody seems to make such a thing though.

    Although power delivery can supply these voltages, the USB-C ports on a computer may only supply 5v, so compatibility would be hit and miss.
