Can some one let me know if this is any good? Or a better recommendation?

Depends what you want it for, I wouldn't use it on mains voltage, and I doubt it will be astoundingly accurate, but probably ok.

This one (aneng 8002) has autoranging, 6000 count and takes AA batteries which might be preferable to a PP3. About £5 more though (£12.30 +vat). Still inadvisable to use on mains though.

As a general rule, these are hot garbage.

For lethal voltage you should not trust them, some do not fail safe ie when broken and not reading will display 0V regardless of the real voltage.

For measuring they are likely to be out by enough that you may as well guess.

As a general rule if it does not have a calibration behind it you probably shouldn’t use it. By this i mean the manufacturer has a program for calibration. You do not need to calibrate it for diy but you know it will have been built correctly.

Get an old fluke 83 or similar, not in this price point, but cheaper than death

I bought this a few months back to test my car battery. Worked well before and during engine start up to diagnose the battery's voltage which I expected to be low. The new battery was also tested and was in the correct expected range. A nice cheap device for that test. The financial outlay for a Fluke would be overkill for many in my opinion for doing such simple tasks like I've mentioned. (edited)

Agree with most points but comparing it to a £250 (used) alternative is a bit mad. This one is perfectly fine for finding shorts on the board as long as it's not mains voltage.

I'd be tempted to get one with True RMS. This Amazon branded one is quite sturdy and sometimes comes down to the £25 mark after promotion. I ordered one at the end of April for £25.64 and it seems decent.

Obviously no Fluke, but then it's a tenth of the price. Whenever Amazon do their promos on Amazon branded stuff their multimeters are often included. I started out looking at those cheap £10 multimeters then decided to just spend the extra based on the reviews.

Auto power off is a must have feature which this one doesn't have

Not really. I used to use one of the budget ones like this and it keeps going for hundreds of hours on a single 9v battery. I left it on loads of times.

Which one can I use on mains?

No reason why you can't use this for mains voltage, it's rated as such
