I bought one of these in 2016. I'm not sure what revisions have been made since then but I am sure that I use it every day. The sound is great for the size of the unit if you want to listen to audiobooks, internet radio or something similar. I actually once went to a childrens party where to my surprise they used one of these for the music. It's a small device so don't expect it to provide the entertainment for a party but it sounds good for the size. It will fit in your hand luggage for going on holiday. It's great for listening in the bathroom or kitchen. It's got a nice rich mellow sound for listening to speech based content and is alright for music. It won't replace a large speaker but I've never found anything in this form factor that performs better. The battery life is very good. Even my old one needs charged much less often than my battery powered DAB radio even if the radio is only used as a bluetooth speaker.

If you want a small, portable device for listening in the kitchen, bathroom, or in your shed, garden, hotel room then this is great. If you want a hi fi for your lounge or to have a rave, forget it.

    These sound terrible, stay away!

I agree. It's absolutely mystifying that these get good reviews. Listened to the Soundcore 2 for about 10 minutes before immediately boxing it back up and sending it back. My Aukey £15 speaker sounds much better than these.

These don’t sound great. Yes I used to own one. If you think they sound great. You’ve got a bargain.

Yeh I was shocked at how bad it was compared to my very old sony srs xb20 that only cost £40.

I've got an old version of this, this is a brilliant little speaker for the money, sturdy and well built..

Be so much better if they took the company name of the front of it

Know what you mean. I just bought the soundcore 3 for £42 on Amazon and fortunately it just says soundcore on the front

Only worry is outwitting wicked workmates who write a new letter in front of the whopping white branding.

I want for worthy co-workers (edited)

Been tempted by this but want it to drop in price further tbh £15 would be my sweet spot.

I can’t see this, the previous model peaked at £20 I think. Cracking units for the price

Can these things be permanently plugged in so it can be used as a pc speaker? Does anyone know if this would be suitable?
    CavanDuck's avatar
I'd recommend looking into something like Creative Pebble V3. Really good speakers for a PC for £30, take up a bit more room than this though (thinner but taller)

I've had the old version for years and it still sounds great, so unless they've made it worse... 4.7 stars from 26,000 ratings? Can't argue with that.

Or, maybe we can argue with that!

That is, maybe people love over-driven bass and little else. I do always say that it has good bass but poor mids and highs. Some (many) people prefer that which is fine, but the dissenters here are mostly pointing out that these are overrated unless you only want bass. (edited)

I bought one for my daughter about 6 years ago and still going strong really good for the price

This is a bargain. I use mine in the bathroom for watching my tablet in the bath. Perfect form factor and survives a quick dunk.

Just turn it up a notch and set it farther from the tub

I have two Soundcore Motion B, one for work and one for home. The home one needs replacing as the battery is not holding it's charge. Bought one of these to replace it, turned up today, not on the same level as far as sound quality go's. Not very clear in comparison, sound sounds a bit distorted.

So even though it's only £23 i have to either try the Anker Soundcore 2 for £33 and see if the extra £10 is worth it. Not sure if I want to spend £41 for the Soundcore 3. (with discounts)

    Shame i cant find a Motion B

These are brilliant, I've got 2. I bought the first one years ago and it's still going strong with no noticeable drop in battery life
I use them mainly for podcasts and find the sound quality brilliant
