Beware Vans sunglasses, bought some on a previous HUKD, different style admittedly, but both mine and my brother in law's just fell to pieces after wearing them on a 2 week holiday ☹️☹️

The reviews on these seem polarised.

Better off buying the polarised O'Niell ones from mandmdirect.

    Really sturdy frames.

I always buy these as my 'throw away' pair, for holidays, festivals and the like. They do the job etc. One issue which seems to be common on almost all of the pairs I have bought is that the frame around the lense will crack eventually. Not sure if this is because of wearing them in hot climates etc, but pretty sure that's what they're for! I still buy them though as I'd rather break or lose these ones.

I think this is a really common problem with cheap sunglasses. I buy cheap sunglasses from Primark and it's happened to nearly every single pair I've bought. You'll suddenly hear a little crack and find the frame has split at some point around the lens...and it always happens if the weather is slightly warmer.

I can only guess that the lens and frame are quite tight and the lens expands slightly more than the frame in the warmth. I don't know why this doesn't happen on more expensive sunglasses...maybe the materials?

Whilst if you buy premium sunglasses you do get better quality these are going to be identical to the £3.50 sunglasses I bought from Primark. In this case, the name Vans adds £8.50.

Had a pair which the frame spontaneously snapped around the lens, when they weren’t even being worn!

Just spent £142 for a pair of similar looking Sunnies branded Burberry at John Lewis, tbh they don't look particularly well made, I think it's the branding you're paying for and a very nice leather sunglass case! (edited)
