sorted byCouple of teething issues:
Some phones simply cannot power it alone. It takes 30W.
It doesn't spare enough wattage for the USB port to power a Microsoft 4K dongle or an Android TV (both tested).
Any setup you're thinking of will therefore need a separate charger each for any dongle and the screen itself, with one spare USB-C for the display/touch input.
Speakers are crap as expected, but usable.
The menu is barebones, entirely icon based, and contextual depending on the input. You won't get the full menu to show up until there's input signal.
Zero documentation provided.
Does not support any stylus I've tested so far.
The stand is susceptible to tipping over if you add any load (mount your phone to the monitor with one of those magsafe things, etc)
All that said, though. Touch input is accurate and fast. Screen is bright. No perceptible issues of delay when pixels go from full off to on. Colour accuracy is pretty good and it does give you some control here to make adjustments.
If I was rich enough to take the loss, I'd tear it open to see what kind of board it's running on and if I could swap it out with a pi module or the like. As is, it does what it says it does.
Can you actually replace the board with a Pi? Quite interested how it works out and what benefits we can get.
