Home Bargains does a 20L grow bag for 2 pounds, I think that works out slightly cheaper if my maths is right.

They sell out fast at my local so you have to go early in the morning and the don't have fresh delivery every day. If you see it and need it then get all you need.

I usually buy the cheapest stuff and add in my own perlite and worm castings. I fertilize weakly when watering if it isn't raining with liquid feed. If it is raining a lot then I use some granulated feed.

Nasty cheap rubbish.....it's builders top soil rather than horticultural.

Last year I bought a bag of this and it had a few pieces of broken plates or possibly they were cups, so definitely agree with your comment.

Home Bargains does 25 litres top soil for £3.20 and much better quality, you could pass it off as John Innes Number 3 almost

I can't comment on this, but I bought some compost last month and it was awful, dried out in a day after watering. The B&Q stuff is miles better
