Amazon says this £140.90 printer comes with "Pre-installed Starter Cartridge: 700 pages", not the standard cartridge for 1200 (which bundle is £184.29 and OOS).

Can't find any mention of compatible cartridges. Original 1200 cartridges at fairly reasonable £36.90 delivered at
    cartridgepeople.com/Xer…ges

Unusually (and helpfully for some) this printer is for business so has Ethernet (RJ45) port for wired networking😁

Amazon warehouse had used very good for £128 so I pounced on that. Thanks! (edited)

49409478-7YYYe.jpgI had a look at the product brochure PDF (available to view on Amazon) which states that the printer comes with a starter toner cartridge for 1200 pages

Brother DCP-L2530DW £136.48 deal is still in stock & some codes on the thread might bring it down to as little as about £117. Different spec, likely larger with a scan/copy platform. Duplex works well - just opened mine up yesterday, am very pleased for about £117.

I've heard that even brother have started putting chips on the toner for new models. Previously brother was the best choice for no nonsense laser printing without chipped toner and phone home shenanigans. Meanwhile my 15 year old brother mfc8890dw is still going strong and I have no plans to ever replace. (edited)

    Good deal.

Can someone explain what the 2400 image quality means?

I'm looking for a very high DPI printer.

Any suggestions on a cheap 1200 DPI printer or higher?

Sound good. Anyone knows if this model accept generic toner cartridges?

I have been loyal to HP for decades but their new toner enforcement is a nonsense. Also a permanent Internet connexion is needed otherwise odds are printer will refuse to print, and a large etcetera. Hope Xerox/Brother are not following the same steps but I have no idea.

    Any thoughts?
    Thx.

Not sure but so far, you can buy standard Xerox toner 006R04399 separately. The printer itself comes with 1200 pages worth of toner so should last a while depending on your usage...

If anyone prefers a video for the unbox/assembly process, rather than an instruction sheet (which aren't always that clear) then I recommend you check this video out from Xerox which I found to be very helpful:

I can recommend Brother MFC-L2710DW. We have 2. Don't have a chip can use aftermarket toners. Get from Viking with a code or printer land. Seriously good printers. 150 quid delivered.
