NFC is a must now at this price range

Are there alternatives that offer NFC and all that this does (GPS etc) for the same money?

Seems it actually has built in GPS, Big advantage as you don't need a phone for the GPS
But lack of NFC will be a deal breaker... (edited)

why does a watch need nfc? I'm sure fitness features are required. Mobile payments wont work unless the watch is expensive which is out of the way for most cheap watches. I think only apple pay and google play work on these device. Since its running its own os nfc payments wont work even if it has nfc. I could be mistaken.

Have they sorted out the updating of data to the app ? On the smart band 7 Pro i have to manually open mi fitness app before midnight otherwise all data for that day would not be saved !

I have a Mi Watch and haven't had issues with data syncing - but I will normally check my sleep data in the morning.

My other half has the 7 Pro though, and no idea if she's had issues with it or not - either way, we have 2 8 Pros on order.

When I saw it was on the site, there was also a 10% off voucher, but it disappeared when I logged in - however, used points to get the 2 for £80.

    Forgive my ignorance.

Is NFC used on these watches to make payments by swapping watch instead of phone? Ie Apple Pay?

And this watch does NOT have NFC and cannot be used for payments?
    spicychair's avatar
Yep that's right, no payments on this watch unfortunately

Is it possible to buy the straps yet?

I've got the mi band 7 pro and it's completely useless. Had a mi band 2,3,4 and 5 previous to this which were all great so real disappointment.

Same here. Mine failed after 3 months. Apparently you can't swim in them even though they have a swim setting. Normal.pool leisure swim

These just have the same features every year!

So the same as phones, TVs, computers, microwaves, ...

Once you hit a certain level it's difficult to introduce new features - so it becomes a case of slightly better sensors, slightly different interface, software, etc.

Had this for last 4 months the Chinese version but 95% of menus are in English
It's ok, slightly bigger screen than the Huawei watch Fit I had before but doesn't do anything better

Do these watches use the Zepp app on Android?

Hi. Thinking of getting a smartwatch for my old man that would be able to send some sort of emergency alert to me if his heart got funny. Any recommendations?
    poops101's avatar
Probably the best option is an apple watch?
