I have nothing against watch enthusiasts, but why are people so intrigued by a watch that costs 6k? Do you just adore them, or do you buy them as well? If you do, then teach me the ways of becoming rich like you (edited)

I’ve always been into watches, I like the mechanics that go into them, I like the style of the watches I own, I like how most brands have a heritage and story behind them. It’s a bit like car enthusiasts (which I definitely am not). I guess it’s just a hobby as such. I posted this deal and wouldn’t particularly say it interests me, I just thought it was a good price for a good watch. This is what I would call a mid tier Swiss watch.

Subjective obvs, but as much as I'm fascinated by mechanical movements I rarely want to see one from the front. Not a purist, just don't think it's necessary & to me it never looks right.

Agreed, the variant without the "open heart" looks much better. Probably that's the reason for the discount.

Such a typical attitude to this kind of thing. I don't 'get' watches either and would never spend this much. However, I appreciate good craftsmanship amd engineering. Not to mention, this will still be worth something in thirty years unlike the £1000+ phone you're holding now.

Damn fair point. Makes we want to buy a good watch now. They last decades. On that logic it’s actually a bargain at a few grand compared to a phone.

Superb company, great movement, but I'm not a fan of turbillon (open heart) dial. El Primero 36000 VpH FTW.
At last something different than Rolex, Tudor or Omega here (premium brands). (edited)

This isn't a tourbillon, that's a completely different type of movement

Everyone has a smart phone, or more than one, nowadays that also tells the time. Hardly anyone wears a watch.
This akin to buying a steam engine to put on your drive, instead of a car.
At least with a steam engine the neighbours will see it, while expensive watches are kept in a drawer, rather than outdoors advertising I want to be mugged?

Hahahaha. My god, you were the guy that used to come and berate watch deals people used to post from the lockdown era on this site. I specifically remember your username and all your about how the luxury watches are a waste of money. Still hating and commenting on things of 0 interest to you 4 years later I see. What a life
