Amazon only allows Student discount for 4 years ?

Yes. Mine has ended last month after 4 years and they have said no when I tried to extend it. But then all good things must come to an end.

My student Prime is only £39/year?!Also to anyone wondering, when i started my Student Prime Membership, it was so easy to validate. I had an out-of-date NUS card and sent a photo of it without the date showing and they still accepted it. (this was a few years ago mind you!)

Although it says £3.99 per month, you can also pay for the year up front and get the reduced price of £39

I did it the ‘proper’ way. Registered for an online cheap course then got an NUS card and 4 years of student Prime. Now they tell me that is it. You can only be a prime student for 4 years so will cancel Prime

They randomly offered me this a few months back and I haven't been to uni in 2 decades.. I didn't even need to validate it.

I'm just about to enter my second year of student prime and I've never been to college either. I used an eBay seller who sent me a screengrab of a rather rubbish looking college verification screen with my name and email and I sent it to an email address they gave me and it was verified without an issue.

They did the same with me years ago. Never asked any questions or checked and have been renewing at the £39 a year for 4-5 years now, this is a long university course I'm apparently doing.

That was the old skool method a few years ago, typically via a questionable educational establishment offering distance learning courses. My cat didn't bother with that rubbish & still had no problem getting the NUS card hotukdeals.com/com…549
The more modern methodology requires difficult-to-bypass verification codes, or a dubious ebay purchase.

Likewise, me and a friend had this pop up on our amazon home page and didn't need to verify or anything. We had the 6 month freebie and are now paying student rates. No idea why this happened, assumed it was a glitch.
