Printer recommendations please

Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to help please.
I'm in the market fir a new printer. My last one was a espon 250 home printer scanner copier.
Got it for £11 from George asda lol ticket said £22 when scanned was half price.
It's over 7yrs old and since we've changed WiFi it just won't work no matter what I spent 10hours trying to get it to connect to the wifi hub on different computers etc too.

Printer only used for kids work mainly 1 in high-school the others primary.
I don't want one of those printers that cost more than the printer themselves to replace the ink. The one I had I used to get 4 cartridges from ebay for £9.99

Am I asking for too much or does such printer exist?
On a budget too so the eco printers are out.
Thank you

given your budget situation. I would just connect the printer to a computer/laptop via a cable - most likely usb and then print from that way - not ideal but cheaper than buying new.

can you also confirm exact model number of printer (edited)

Thank you for your reply. I will double check exact model in the morning and let you know. The actual unit doesn't have a USB port its 'wireless' iirc. Will double check and come back. Thank you
