TRV vs Manual

Asking for advice. Thanks in advance.

Can anyone advise if the following valve is considered thermostatic or a manual valve? Based on my reaearch, it looks Manual seeing as you can only open/close rather than set the temperature. Just wanted to double check.

    Manual.

On the other end of the rad there should be another manual probably with a different plastic cover on it but it is the same under the cover. (edited)

Pretty sure thats a lockshield valve that is used to adjust the flow into / out of the radiator. TRV should be other end that regulates temperature.

It isn't. It is an old school radiator valve that are the same either end of the radiator. One should have a cap on it that you can turn & the other should have a cap on it that you can't turn because it should be fixed into position for balancing the radiators. The caps are often missing because they break or get pulled off.
