This is part of Safari's data management - when you visit a website, it stores data locally on your device; login details, cookies, cached images ect. By default there is a maximum amount of space a website can use to store files, it's quite small and for sites with lots of images or 'rich content' it can be fully utilise it. That's what has happened here - so safari offers you the option to grant more space. It's entirely up to you if you wish to grant more space or not
