I bought one of these a while ago. It's incredibly comfortable. Very good reviews too.
Thank you very much for that! I guess I’ll stick to my MTB helmet then rather than spend more money when not necessary!! Appreciate your time explaining it :)
Coverage tends to be different - an MTB helmet will normally cover further down the back of your head/neck and at the sides, they are usually bulkier and will generally have fewer air vents as the helmet needs to deal with a wider range of impact scenarios like hitting branches that are unlikely on the road, more expensive road helmets tend to be more streamlined, have larger air vents or better ventilation design, and are designed to be more aerodynamic at speed, but with a reduction in coverage overall thats aimed at head/road collisions. I doubt the Fox helmet will be a problem on the road, it may be a little warmer than a similar high end road helmet and you'll probably get more wind noise at speed, but its unlikely to make a massive difference on a hybrid.
I searched every single 26" kids bike available on the internet and in a shop for my 10 year old, ended up with a frog, not quite what I was looking for as I wanted him to go for a more mountain bike type like a xxs 27.5 Scott or Orbea but in reality a 26" hybrid was probably the best for fit and for his ability until he gets a bit bigger and a decent MTB will last him longer than a year or two.
When my eldest outgrew this bike (orbea Team MX 24) I went for a bike that wasn't quite as lightweight (relative to wheel size). I'd spent years buying frogs etc and the 26 versions were pretty pricy, and I decided it wouldn't be too long to wait until he was ready for a 27.5 with far more choice. Having said that, if I'd been able to source the orbea mx 26 I would have gone for that.
For the 3rd time, its not a mango bike, its a HEY bike, made in scandanavia, well built bikes most likely
Hub gears and roller brakes are a great idea for a low maintenance city bike. Many of the Nextbike rental bikes have a similar spec with the same Nexus 7 speed hub. It's a shame Mango bikes seem to use so many cheap parts and their customer service gets terrible reviews. This bike seems to have done a much better job of the same concept. So long as you can live with only 3 gears (it'll only be a problem if you live near steep hills or want to go fast) it seems a much better deal.
It will be easier to fit a bottom bracket motor. Like one from Tongsheng or Bafang (can get them on Amazon and eBay). This UK shop sells both kits for anyone interesting in finding out more: https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?cdkit
Cant see any spec to speak of but if I had another brand I wouldn’t allow mango to sell mine and if I was a decent brand I wouldn’t set ludicrous rrp’s to allow for attention seeking discounts. The trustpilot responses, not the complaints, speak for themselves. Shut it down.

Smartform C3 isn't just a code word for 6061 alloy. C3 < C2 < C1 and each ascending version has more extensive/custom butting profiles, more complicated forming of the tube profiles and greater use of the double pass (smooth welds) welding. Not sure how that contradicts the SAVE design, although it's highly likely that the better the frame the better the effect. Not all 6061 alloy is created equal and a plain gauge frame and a butted/formed frame will ride very differently. This test dates from a good while ago but it's just too simplistic to say "flexy aluminium frames have fatigue issues..." sheldonbrown.com/rinard/frame_fatigue_test.htm TL;DR The cannondale alloy frame outlasted all its competitors (Inc carbon and steel frames) in a fatigue test.
I've been thinking about buying this bike for a few weeks now and at £999 it was overpriced, but £879 is more like it. I've had a Cannondale Quick SL1 since 2013 and it's the best bike I've ever had in terms of comfort and flexibility. Strangely this one is a tad heavier (11.1 vs 9.5 kg) than my 2013 Quick, probably due to disc brakes. Heat for this BUT - all that said - 2 days ago I bought the Giant Escape 0 for £799 (also from Tredz but now OOS) as it looked too good to miss. Would have been a harder choice if I'd seen this first.
As the other have commented above. I'll add that hybrids are good as commuter bikes for those more used to mountain bike riding posture. Personally, I find road bike posture rather awkward and uncomfortable, but that's because I grew up on MTBs. Also note that you can run slicker/narrower "700C" tyres on most "29er" MTBs to make a hybrid of sorts; that's what I have been doing for 15 years or so, swapping tyres/wheels for proper off-road vs. my commute with 700C tyres for roads and woodland tracks. I once took a friend out for ride around some South Pennine trails with a hybrid; he ended up with a buckled front wheel, which had to be straighted over some rocks just to allow it to rotate. Hence why I go for 29er + 700C tyres for hybrid-style cycling and better flexibility (though greater weight).
It means you get less for more

Nice helmet but I would suggest it is worth the extra to get a helmet with MIPS protection such as https://www.tredz.co.uk/.MET-Miles-MIPS-Road-Cycling-Helmet_239040.htm
I've got one of these and I love it. I don't commute and I'm what I'd consider a serious cyclist and the LED at the back is a bonus, especially these days! It's around £32-£35 in most places and I'd say it's an absolute bargain! I normally buy helmets two or three times the price of this and I wish I'd found something like this a lot sooner!
