When I first subscribed to Starz, I was considering getting the blu ray of Castle Rock S1 which was about £20 at the time. I thought I could buy that, or just pay 1/10 of the price last time there was a deal and get potentially loads of other stuff. If there's just 1 thing you want to watch, be it a film or series, it's clearly worth a month at £1.99. (edited)

Doom Patrol is good fun. It's a weird, adult Superhero show, including Brendan Fraser as an extremely sweary "Robotman".

As above, the new series is for edgy teens and not worth it imo. (tho there is plenty of other good stuff on Starz). The 90s Stand miniseries is better imo but really cheap and hokey. My favorite way to experience the story is actually on Audible. I've read the book traditionally and though it is fantastic, I found it such a slog and commitment. Audible is 99p for new users at the mo and the audiobook for The Stand would be the bargain of the century for that. (edited)

100% agree - I'd never even heard of this, but I'm 5 episodes in to the first season and it's absolutely brilliant. JK Simmons is excellent.

Starz is £1.99 for 6 months on Prime as an add-on channel. Think that's what the comment meant, not it was the same price as Netflix or Prime.

I was tempted because of the new version of The Stand. Loved the 90's version and hope this would be as good or better.

The only issue I'm having is getting access to the site. Working in Senegal for a few weeks, and they pick up I'm using a VPN.

I didn't mind The Stand to be honest. Julie Lowry's character was irritating in both versions but Lloyd Henreid was far worse in the new one. Tom Cullen was better in the new one. All very much opinion.

If it's your thing, there are 9 Jason Statham films available on there.

I'm still on the first series. It's pretty good - loads of call backs to King's books.

Curious how many missus' you have - I always get confused with apostrophes but I'm sure that means you have more than one

    Heat added.

I'll probably give it a shot, if I watch a couple of films during that time then it'll be worth the £1.99 easily.

Edit: Just saw that Doom Patrol is on it - well worth the £2 just to watch that. Easily one of the most enjoyable DC series. (edited)

Just to clarify. This was £1.99 as an add-on channel on Prime Video. Agreed on its own, much cheaper. Either way, if you can find something to watch on there then it's a good price. Which is why I voted hot

Are there any benefits in terms of picture quality using their own service/app rather than through prime video?
There's no 4k or HDR through prime, is it available through their own app?

Anyway, it's well worth the cost. Doom patrol is excellent, just finished Castle Rock, I couldn't stop watching it!

Ive also done pennyworth, the stand and season 1 or counterpart. Is there anything else worth watching in there?
