Good price, I have the "Zavier" sofa which is essentially the same as this. It seems as though they make the most minor of design changes to this sofa and bring it out under a different name.

It went from Zuma > Zavier > Orka, and it seems like the only changes are very minor shape changes to the arm rest.

Anyway I can recommend, I kept my eye on the "zavier" sofa for a while and it was on regular sale at £799, however it dropped to £699 for a few weeks after I had bought it but DFS price matched as it hadn't been delivered yet. So this is a good price and same as what I paid, only potential issue is long delivery times. Mine took a total of 3 months to be built and delivered. Also delivery is an extra £69 when I bought mine. (edited)

But if the display model is still firm what does that say?

That it’s a display model that probably gets sat on very few times a day and when it does people don’t sit on it for more than 2 minutes…… Do you really think a sofa in a shop gets more use than a sofa in your home lol

DFS are terrible for relaunching sofas with new names and intro discounts. I’ve just got this sofa but called the ‘pongo’, my sister has the same but call ‘prysm’. It’s a great sofa and for the price great compared to other sofa shops but don’t be tempted only by the pressure selling intro offer technique.

If you don’t buy in the intro offer, it’ll be more expensive for a few weeks then back at intro price with a new name. (edited)

I tried the Pongo, which is pretty much this and they are very uncomfortable. No proper good way to sit on it. I'd recommend sofa that actually has a proper back and not pillows. Something that supports your back, neck and head. Then again it is preference and some like to lean back really far on a sofa I guess.

Prepare for a delay I ordered pongo sofa (same as this) 9 weeks ago, they still are showing it as not in the country. Keep pushing dates back and don’t bother to tell you. He originally told me 8 weeks. Also I asked if they were English made he assured me yes. But found out they all come from China. To cut a long story short I wouldn’t trust a word any of the salesman say in that shop. They will tell you anything to get a sale.

Some may only have been in for 12 months and sitting on a sofa for 2 mins at a time is going to do nothing to it over time, whereas your one at home can be sat on for hours at a time daily. Tbh you don’t want a sofa to end up going too soft anyway because it would mean the cushions have gone out of shape and wouldn’t end up being as supportive. There’s loads of different types of sofas out there all with varying firmness. I think a lot of the DFS ones also have an option of what type of foam you want in the sofas, one of them being more firm than the other, so you should easily find one to suit. They’re definitely right tho in saying that they will soften over time

Sorry it's cold from me this is just the 'price' it's one of the constantly rotated to be on sale almost identical sofas. If it's what you'd re looking for great but it's not a deal
  13. Merlin001's avatar
If you want it comfy do not let them upsell the foam cushion option. Wonder why they don't have the foam on display when trying them out? It looks awful in the cushions too - like an over inflated square. We learnt hard way and replaced recently as soon as paid off and what we got looked and felt nothing like what we sat on when ordered.
At least DFS delivered it right though. Sofology (DFS too) are on third attempt to get new one right and still missing 3 bits.
Don't respond to anything quickly and you're usually caller number 30+ in queue. so angry - but sofa superb, if missing a cushion still (edited)

Oh god yuck?! What are they doing about the beetles

Settee is long gone and it was a case of ‘can you prove it was us’, which obviously we could not, we lived in a newly furnished first floor apartment and had none before the settee returned, you can imagine their workshop it’ll be saw dust and wood everywhere and they clearly lived in the settee, we had a new born at the time too. but no proof no consideration from them. So as I say, never again, was a gross experience.

Going through similar now, within 14 days of cancelation but they are using delaying tactics refusing to put us through to cancelations and will not give a direct number. Disgusting company. Will never use them and will be getting my refund one way or another.

Issue with Layla sofa was it was almost 3m wide. I’ve got a big sitting room, but it would have dominated everything. Also, it didn’t feel like it was worth the extra £300 in person. It was a bit squishy.

Do you work for the company as their sofas look terrible.

    no i don't

some of their sofas do look horrible but they're decent quality and there's a few good ones if you look.

like i said I've had mine for two years for the fraction of the price and its still really good.

i personally wouldn't blow anywhere near that much for a sofa, unless its like a double cornered one

Joking aside about the DFS sale, the only corner sofa and chair I have ever bought new was an armless model, can't remember the name but it was Wine coloured leather, ex display. It's still looking great after 15 years but could be they make display models at a higher standard. I paid about £450 for the corner and chair.

A display item like this that is constantly in and out of the sale will have been on display for no longer than 6-8 weeks. Over the course of 12 months there's likely to be around 8 different versions of this model!

These definitely soften over time at home, it takes around 2/3 months.
