If you plan to record 24/7 then the quality of the 2k drops down to 1080p anyway so depends what you want it for.

I just ordered the 1080 version yesterday from Amazon because it was on offer. Is it worth sending back and getting the 2K version instead? I’m a bit at a loss as to what the difference is?! Is it just the recording quality? (edited)

The difference is in the quality of the picturr/video you are going to see. Personally I would pay the small difference if you can. The main purpose of any camera is to record an image so go for the best you can afford. I have the 2k version and the picture is excellent. Even the night vision is good.

Can the motion detection be disabled/enabled when required and if I use this camera to view an elderly person in another room will it kick of and need refreshed like some others do?

At times I would like to use it as a 24/7 view live when required without having to refresh the feed and at other times use as a motion detection security camera.

Edit - if viewing through an Alexa echo device will it refresh it/kick live streaming off (edited)

Thanks. In my case, it’s just a camera to see how much damage the dog is doing while we’re out, so the recording quality isn’t such a big issue!

EUFY C24 or TAPO C110? Which one is better?

I am confused by the Amazon specs.

    For example:

    Field of View , Amazon = 125 but Eufy website = 105

    Which one is true?

you can disable the motion detector and have it as always on. I have done that to keep an eye on my car. However I find that at times it will not connect to the camera feed via the app. Takes a few attempts which can be annoying. Other than that it’s a decent camera.

No. You add it in the app and it functions irrespective of Homebase and all other Homebase kit. Eufy’s ecosystem is a total mess and I can’t recommend their products until they sort it out. Quality hardware, awful software.

I’ve been running two of these for the last year to keep an eye on kids sleeping and they have been super reliable. I used to have a foscam which took ages to connect and stream and the software was clunky and dated

Ah but try using the cameras in combination with the alarm system (and other cameras linked to the homebase). Absolute mess. The “leave delay” doesn’t apply to cameras, even though they are part of the security mode “away” so you literally can’t arm the system if you have to walk by a camera to exit your home as the alarm will sound, despite the 30 second “leave” delay. I asked their support why this was happening and they said “this is how it’s designed and we have no plans to change it”. It’s broken and they won’t fix it.
