As always they're only a good value if you've already got a battery and a charger, otherwise could be quite pricey if you only want one thing. With cordless tools in general it's worth thinking about in which brand/system you want to invest and then once you've got the battery and the charger, the tools can be quite cheap. I've got loads of Ferrex Aldi cordless tools and I can recommend them for the average DIY-er.

Batteries on average lose 25% each year so you're looking at a life span of 3-4 years. I suppose the price of the power tool might balance that up.I'm still using some 15yr old DeWalt ni-cad stuff but using a badaptor to convert to Li-on batteries. I've changed the bushes on them a couple of times that are still available. This would be impossible with lower-end power tools.

I have Dewalt myself. But these brands are cheap enough and reliable enough to make financial sense to most DIYers.

I bought this item about 10 days ago (both pumps). I had already bought the battery and charger as I wanted a cordless angle grinder a few weeks ago and I've since bought a few other Ferrex items from Aldi.

Anyway the pumps arrived today. The Cordless volume pump is pretty good actually, for air beds it works well and inflates and can deflate quickly. I will use it onboard my boat for my inflatable towables as well, it will inflate much quicker than the existing 12v pump.

I'm very impressed with the air compressor actually. Digital setting the pressure in PSI or Bar, and then pumps the tyres up to the set pressure and stops. I've run it up to 95psi on my race bike tyres and it worked great, kinda wasted money on buying a JoBlow bike pump now. I've used it on my Hybrid bike tyres and also on my X6 tyres, all worked great and very quickly. Delighted with it so for, so recommend.

Try searching on their German sites, you can get them posted to the UK for postage costs. I was lucky to get the Parkside set of this for £15 last year, they'd forgotten to send it back so it was on its own in a reduced bin

I bought the parkside equivalent last year and it’s been useful out in the field on family cycle trips. Used yesturday to blow up balloons in absolutely no time at all

This Ferrex one offered by Aldi looks exactly the same set. Does it come with a hard case with space for the battery like the Lidl offering? (edited)

Could you use these to pump up a inflatable kayak or Stand up paddle …Could you use these to pump up a inflatable kayak or Stand up paddle board? Maybe use the volume pump to get most the air in there then the compressor to fill to correct pressure - or would the air pump alone suffice (I don't think it has a pressure display?)

I've got a similar older Lidl one and use the volume inflator on a kayak to quickly get lots of air in. It won't get to a high pressure though so I then finish it off with a manual inflatables pump. The high pressure inflator would be really slow on a kayak and for mine wouldn't have the correct valve either

If you’re thinking about buying a pump for your car might be worth thinking to buy one with cigarette plug so you can leave it in the car. I have one and in winter days when all the petrol station closes their air/water machines it comes in we’ll handy. Couple that with the green slime and it could get you out of a tricky situation.

Agreed. I knew a Kitchen Fitter who only ever bought lower end power tools and replaced them every couple of years. I couldn't be bothered with the hassle personally.

Thetes a guy on Facebook in a parkside group that 3d prints adapters so you can use parkside batteries on other tools, no idea on cost tho but given the amount of time it takes to make them they're probably not cheap.

It looks like Ferrex have quite a wide range of interesting tools, and in some cases not even some of their own tools work with all their batteries. I suppose it's a bit of a gamble buying into the 'battery family' of particular brands.
