Didn't see this anywhere on the leaflet so was pleasantly surprised when I saw it in store! Not as fancy as the one in August but it's half the price of that!

I've found some places but they're never quite what I want. Does anyone know of anywhere online? There's people on ebay doing things like this but I'm a bit concerned about quality.

You won't find these online because it's physically impossible to ship them safely - even the eBay sellers usually just ship the ingredients and you have to assemble it yourself. My advice is to try looking at local florist shops, they randomly have them in stock. I also bought one really large one at an open air market in Manchester two years ago.

If you have a Dobbies garden centre near you they often have them, but quite a bit more expensive than this

How do you keep these alive!!

Uhm......literally just leave it alone and don't touch it at all? Like I said above, I've had one from lidl for 5 years now and it requires almost no maintenance.

Maybe one thing is that you shouldn't have it in the sun - it will cook itself if you do.

It's a closed system, there's nothing it needs, as long as the lid is put on tightly it won't ever need anything. With mine I had to add a tiny bit of water after 3 years because it was visibly getting dry, now it's been 2 years since that time and it's still fine. I also wipe off the glass from inside every few months because it gets green otherwise. Just open the lid, wipe with a clean cloth all the way around, close again. Done.

I've found the likes of this:

    notonthehighstreet.com/the…plp

Which I realise isn't exactly the same product but it's along the lines. I did wonder whether the thing would actually come looking in any fit state. I wish garden centres would make stuff like this a regular offering as I'd have one by now!

Had one of these for 5 years now, I can confirm they are completely self sufficient. I think I watered it once two years ago and even then only a little bit, plus I wipe off the glass from the inside every few months. (edited)

I have one from waitrose. Taller, but doesn't look much wider.

Speaking of which, would this suit a self contained bug ecosystem, or is it literally just for the plants...

Like this, just add some bugs that 'compliment' each other.

Just bought one. There were 3 left in my Lidl. They're huge! I was expecting a titchy little thing. Well worth the money. I'd have paid £20 for one.
