Waiting for the "it's not desiccant and it won't work below 'X' degrees" crew to arrive

I had purchased one of these a couple of years ago from Aldi. its the first dehumidifier i've bought - mainly due to condensation in the room i dry my clothes (which i do 8-10 washes a week). I kid you not, the compartment is half full of water in about 2 hours!. clothes are bone dry in about 4hours. fantastic unit.
mine had a timer and humidistat . i picked it up for £100 from Aldi website and 3-year warranty is included. so far not let me down and i use it a lot.
windows also have very little or no condensation. only con is that it is indeed noisy and power hungry....
hope this helps.fee free to ask me any questions.
im sure there are much better and quieter units out there as others have suggested - Meaco is one of the leaders but it all depends how much you want to spend. (edited)

Thanks, that answers my question - is this desiccant or compressor?! I want to use it in my shed so needs to be desiccant.

Seriously though, do you know for sure this is not desiccant?

    Here, older version has comments:
    aldi.co.uk/eas…800

    Pros:
3 year warranty with easy returns

    Cons:
It doesn't mention humidistat, so if I'd like it to stop when it gets to 50% I need to keep looking at it.

Still hoping for better Black Friday deal elsewhere. Lidl had one for £79 :-)

It looks very similar to the reasonable Screwfix ones, which I have. The Screwfix ones can be set at different humidity settings.

Surely the description of this is wrong, its saying it has a 20L water tank - this would be massive - so I think the 20L should refer to 20L/day water extraction, which begs the question how big is the water tank on this device?

It very clearly says "boasting a 20l maximum capacity water tank", so maybe the question should be, what is the extraction rate?

To answer my own question, what appears from the pictures to be an identical unit is for sale on ebay for £114.99 with free delivery and a one year warranty. 6l tank capacity and 20l/24hr extraction rate. But at 400W it's going to be expensive to run.

Yeah, it should read up to 20l extraction rate/24 hours. (perfect conditions and timely emptying of the water tank would be needed to hit that figure though)
I have had probably 3-4 litres in 24hrs the odd time.
    The Screwfix ones are good.

Just received mine today I've ran it for 3 hour and it's removed 1/2 litre of water at room temperature with an average humidity of 52%.

I got the Aldi special in dehums about two years ago & it's rubbish.

Currently I've 4, & the best by a mile is an Ebac.

Presently looking for a small 12v one if anyone has any ideas.

400w is almost double the power this type of dehumidifier should me using. 400w is desiccant power usage. (edited)

From my experience with the lild one they run in 2 speeds, 330w above 80% humidity and around 200w for anything below 80%, i hope it helps (edited)
