    Good unit, shame my remote control has stopped working. No matter what battery I put in it, I can't get the sodding thing to work!

    You may have already tried it but,

    Take battery out and then hold down the power button on the remote for 30 seconds or so. Pop battery back in

    This will power cycle it and it might fix it. Worth a try!

    I always buy tower fans now instead of the normal ones. Normal fans don't seem to survive being in the shed through winter plus the legs are always flimsy. Tower fans seem to be more robust and sturdy.

    What is noise like from this? Want something whisper quiet, often these type designs better than normal fans

    For £30 it wont be whisper quiet, for that sort of silence you will need to pay a fairly hefty premium.

    I purchased one a couple of years back which I use for the living room. Its not whisper quiet but it does the job and unobtrusive. The cheapest I have seen for this and cheaper than when I bought it.
