Two consoles share games. If you have 10 different users on one of the game sharing consoles, all will have access to the game. A third console will not have access.

Exactly this, but they just don't seem to understand it, and further seem …Exactly this, but they just don't seem to understand it, and further seem to have the need to constantly parrot the same stuff on every digital sale thread haha. I normally get 15-20% off my PSN credit and share my stuff between my PS5 and a PS4 Pro at my partners. But even besides all of that, I stopped using discs yeas ago for all my forms of media and I wouldn't go back to them for anything. DVDs, CDs, game discs...all are just hassle. The convenience of digital compared to inserting, ejecting and generally messing around with bits of plastic in order to play a game, watch a movie or listen to music, is bliss Back on topic...nothing so far on the game side, but stocked up on three years of PS+ at around £27 each thanks to said cheap credit and the PSN offer

I don’t know why people have to be in one camp or the other when it comes to digital games or physical game discs. I am not sure ruling out buying discs completely is a good idea as you miss out on a good few bargains like the Call of duty Cold War disc for £20 at smyths a few weeks back while it was still at least £10 more on digital. I do prefer digital myself as I am lazy and it’s usually a lot o effort for me to get off the couch and put a disc in however I like a bargain more and I definitely don’t rule out buying a physical disc if it’s saving me money.

As a father I have gone fully digital. One reason is little fingers playing with discs… not great… another reason is I get an hour tops each evening to play. The last thing I wanna do is waste valuable minutes searching through my collection, finding a game and then waiting for it to load etc. I only get 60 of them I wanna use them wisely. It’s even worse if you think a game is in one place but it’s been moved by one of your children, so you spend that valuable hour looking for a disc instead of actually playing. I only buy in sales so price isn’t too much of an issue for me. I’m fully digital and never looking back

Heat - Great price for RE Village & Deathloop!
Tesco actually fulfilled my Deathloop order, so it looks like I won't be getting it from PSN after all...
I could be tempted to revisit the Village for that price though...

Cyberpunk is a decent price but if you've waited this long, you might as well wait a bit longer (for the PS5 version)...
I was hoping for a lower price on Persona 5 Strikers, so that will have to wait.
Demons Souls not in the list yet, but I suspect it will show...
Returnal can returnal up its own arsenal at that price! (edited)

To all the disc > digital crew:

Nobody on this site pays the prices above... They get cut-price credit and often game-share with someone who goes halves, so the price to them is around a third of the PSN price.
Granted, there's no trade-in with digital but you normally lose about a third to a half of the price on trade-ins anyway and at least you get to keep the digital copy.

I'm not 100% digital or physical - I decide on a game-by-game basis, depending on replay value and my game-share buddy's appetite.

Same. A mate bought the Digital PS5 and questioned why I'd "waste" £90 extra buying the disc edition. Pretty much answered his own question 3 months later when I was able to buy disc versions of games he wants to play at 25-50% cheaper than what he was paying for the digital version. (edited)

Handful of games are an ok price. A pretty poor sale.

Anyone who thinks having to change a disc is some kind of hardship really needs to re-evaluate things.
There is no 'winner' in digital Vs disc, game by game basis as said. If it's a short single player story driven game then it's disc every time for me (R&C cost me £3 to play after I sold it) but sub £20 I'm happy with digital mainly, especially if it a game like Division 2 where I'll dip in and out a lot.

Great price for ESO Blackwood, started playing that about 4 months ago, after the steep learning curve, became very addictive. Gutted about Returnal not being "on sale" I mean, I know it is, but I don't count it at that price 😳
Could be tempted with Cyberpunk though, with it getting the free PS5 upgrade next year, I doubt it'll be cheaper once that comes around... :/

Edit: Blackwood was showing as £14-something for me. Don't know if that was a PS+ price. So these prices might not include PS+ prices right now and end up being cheaper. (edited)

To all the disc > digital crew:Nobody on this site pays the prices …To all the disc > digital crew:Nobody on this site pays the prices above... They get cut-price credit and often game-share with someone who goes halves, so the price to them is around a third of the PSN price. Granted, there's no trade-in with digital but you normally lose about a third to a half of the price on trade-ins anyway and at least you get to keep the digital copy.I'm not 100% digital or physical - I decide on a game-by-game basis, depending on replay value and my game-share buddy's appetite.

Game share is a lifesaver honestly. Might convince my mate to finally do CP2077, cost us less than £10 each after voucher. Might still be a bit too much for some people though haha

£52 Returnal - regretting this PS5 DE purchase to be honest. Sony thinking they can charge more than Nintendo on their digital store whilst brick and mortar shops are slashing games like Ratchet to £25 and Demon’s Souls to £29. More fool me I suppose.

Exactly. I can't remember when I last bought a disc. Not to mention the digital version is the far better looking console.

Or is it safe to do because I have a digital PS5 but these prices on the store are ridiculous especially when you can get Miles Morales from Tesco for <50% the price on the PS Store and I really can't be paying these insane prices, would rather try gamesharing with a friend

It's not strictly allowed under their Ts & Cs (2nd console should be "in the same house") but I haven’t heard of a single ban arising from game-sharing.

The one minus point is that if PSN is unavailable, the non-primary console cannot access the account's digital games.

    No...
The way game sharing works is that you set your mate's console as your primary console - that way, anyone on that console can access your games and services.
You then log into your (non-primary) console with your account, granting just you access to your games and services.

    If you have a mate who hasn't got a PS5 yet, you could game-share your account on 1 friend's PS5 and another mate's PS4 but not 2x PS5 or 2x PS4.

    See above...
You essentially get to use digital games and services (Plus, Now, EA Play) on a 2nd console.
If you trust a friend not to abuse your account and they are happy to pay their way, you can split the cost of nearly all your digital purchases
The exception is IAPs, as they apply to your account, unlike actual DLC.

Pretty much answered his own question 3 months later when I was able to buy disc versions of games he wants to play at 25-50% cheaper than what he was paying for the digital version.

I must admit I still favour digital ones especially since covid took the fun away from hunting down shop bargain rack finds.
The loading times pre and during game were also a big reason (RDR 2 is a massive grind with disc loading on a ps4 pro)
But I see thats been greatly improved on the PS5. As I buy mainly old games that are well past their hype release days, digital still suits me, but i get the point about the price difference

Same here, digital when the deal is right, but prefer physical. Will be looking to get some credit to bring down the price of Psychonauts 2 just a little further seeing as there's no physical version and I don't have Gamepass.

I was very much a disc > digital person for years, got 70+ PS2, 80+ PS3 and around 40+ PS4 games. Over the past year i've been slowly going digital though, wait long enough and the PS Store can kick out some good deals, just about being patient, and this site helps to keep the back log going while prices tumble.

I'll still likely end up with a disc version of the PS5 just in case, but I probably wouldn't mind whichever one I got now. Different matter is how quickly the PS5 digital games drop, the increase in price is just ridiculous.

The digital PS5 prices have been a bit stagnant...
I guess it's to make up on the losses they make with the digital console.

I don't think that digital is better than physical (and the choice for a PS5 disc model is the right one) but I recognise that there's value to be found, if you're doing it right

PSN face prices are often a bit of a joke, considering there's no resale value and there were no production, distribution, middle men, packing or shipping costs, so I understand the outrage... but if you spend a little time on HUKD, you'll realise that you can end up paying less than the loss you'd make, buying and selling physical discs.
