sorted byNo, on the Tesco app, to check which stores have the game in stock
Showing as out of stock in the Evesham Worcester Rd store unfortunately!
Tesco Groceries App > Search > Check Stock Before You Visit
Maybe check your app permissions to see if the Location permission is allowed.
You brave, brave soul
Because OoT set the bar, Maj Mask was up there, Twilight princess built on that, then we had skyward sword, which was average but not great, then this... and it just sucks.
Reasons why... because it doesn't fit the norms of a "zelda" game, I love open world RPGs, skyrim etc, but this is trying to be that, when it shouldn't.
Reasons I dislike -
Breakable weapons - Ugh, why? just frustrating and unnecessary.
No clear structure - Every zelda game to date had clear direction on where to go, what to do etc, this did not.
Poor story-line - Just didn't feel i needed to save the princess
Open world - climbing etc - just didn't feel zelda, then slipping down if wet etc.
Characters - I didn't feel the love for gorons, zora etc this time round.
Legendary items - No real direction for the master sword / hylian shield etc, that are usually so important in the game, yet in this you can just complete it without.
I could go on
As did I -, with severe regret as the game was awful. (edited)
I thought your first post was sarcasm!
But this? WOAH!!!
Even if in your opinion it's the worst Zelda to date, you are just plain wrong to say it's a terrible game, it may not have been what you wanted from a Zelda game (you must of missed all the previews and promo work before it suggesting how it was going to be etc) but it is rightly regarded as one of the best games of all time regardless of the Zelda moniker. Seems too that you missed the point in regards to the game, a lot of your critique is very deliberate.
It's a shame it is like that for you though, but I guess Zelda just isn't for you anymore and that's fine (after all BOTW2 will be more of the same) but again, that doesn't make it a terrible game.
Not the Zelda for you? fine, terrible game? absolutely not.
Drive there?
If you want to split hairs, then fine. Terrible zelda game. Yes it is an opinion, from someone who has played zelda for years, so it's certainly a qualified opinion. And your point around promo stuff is pretty irrelevant. I've never viewed promo's for other games, especially zelda ones, so why would I with this? and regardless, you have to play it to get a feel for it.
It's ruined the Zelda franchise for me entirely, and yes BOTW2 will not be purchased by me. And I know I am not in isolation thinking like this. a core fan base of the zelda series also agree with me.
Luckily, with zelda, they mix it up every few years, so here's hoping they return to a more traditional format following BOTW2. (edited)
If you can give me any of your local stores I can check
I’ve also played Zelda for a long time, my first experience was a Game and Watch-but properly, was ALTTP. I love the fact that your weapons break, I love the fact the the Hylian shield and Master sword are hard to get hold of and not handed to you on a plate. I like the fact that you could complete the game without either of those too. It all adds up to being a challenge. I would agree that slipping on wet mountains is a PITA though. When you get all the climbing gear I think that should over-ride that. My only other complaint is the volume of Korok seeds I’m about 480 in, and I’ve had to have a break. Oh, and the Master Trials I’ve found particularly gruelling.
But worst game? Nah. And the hardcore Zelda gaming community find it the same? I feel sad for them. I lost myself in this game last year, and I loved every bit of it. I can’t wait for BOTW 2, and there are hints it’s using the same landscape too: brilliant imo. Makes it feel like I’m invested in the place Link was sent to save in the first place.
I try to be diplomatic usually, but I just couldn’t be bothered this time. I get it’s all relative and each to their own, but you’re wrong. As I’m sure you think I am too
No idea what I've done wrong then but you're absolutely right
Haha funny! I meant choose a store on the app
When posting a deal? If you select 'in store' you get a box to type which one it is, if I remember correctly.
Don't think you can since they ditched Tesco Direct? Might have to ring around.
How come? I used to have OoT as my favourite but the gameplay alone in BotW made me reconsider
I hear ya, particularly agree with the story, characters critique and the fact it doesn't feel like a Zelda game but all the gameplay elements like the breakable weapons, stamina and slippery cliffs all just seem to add to the challenge.
With the game frequently autosaving at key points it didn't seem too much of a grind but can definitely be frustrating. I've had to put it down when taking on some of the guardians in the shrines or around the map. I started not sure with the whole game but I get why people love it and put it as the there favourite
They didn't even mention Wind Waker which was great (although the sailing was a bit of a pain, the wii u/hd version sorted that). (edited)
I wouldn't call it splitting hairs, they are two very different points but fair play on elaborating, although fair warning, you may think some of my responses are splitting hairs further
I also never said you didn't have a qualified opinion, this is also backed up by the point of stating Zelda no longer being for you.
The point of promo stuff is completely relevant, while I actually commend you for being able to avoid all of that to then go in surprised, it's intention is to tell you what the game is and what to expect. In this case it likely would have told you that you wouldn't like the direction it's going and thus wouldn't like it.
While yes you do have to play something to get a true feel, you do know whether something will or won't be for you prior to having to play a game, same thing applies for any media really.
Evesham! Please
Cannot see check stock before you visit on the Search tab. Could you please send screenshot. Cheers
I'm on the Android app and it appears at the top in the Search tab (circled).
Something not write with mine
Waltham abbey or Cheshunt Extra please
I've checked iton the app but I don't trust it after clearly not being correct on a previous deal.
Available in both apparently mate
Have you logged into your clubcard account? Think you have to in order to check stock.
And it's a Zelda game, why wouldn't it be for me? Unless the changed loads about what most love Zelda for!
My point about splitting hairs is I'm saying it's a terrible Zelda game. Maybe it isn't a terrible game, which is why loads of people i know who have never played Zelda love this game. But as a Zelda fan, I don't like it.
If you can't allow me to have my opinion, then let's not enter into debate (edited)
Haha! Just poking the bees nest really. It all seemed fairly civil, thought I’d throw my 2 penneth in for good (or not!) measure. You’re still wrong in my opinion though, as I no doubtedly am in yours
At least, judging by your username, there may be some ‘middle earth’-ground we could agree on in other topics!
Probably is because I am base in Bristol and that service is not available on the app here yet. Location permission seems all right. Cheers mate.
