Philips sold the name and TV and monitor business to TP Vision a long time ago. The TVs (and monitors) are made in China, by the same company that makes AOC monitors. The actual Philips company now mainly makes medical equipment, as the margins on that are much higher.

Yea just be aware that the 2022 "The One" will actually be two different models, one with a 60hz panel, the other with a 120hz panel.

Have a look at this if you're interested in an alternative to ambilight and don't want a phillips tv

    Govee immersion lights strip

Comes on offer sometimes near £45-£50 so keep an eye out if not in a rush to buy

I have the 8555 of this and im not much of a fan of it after nearly 2 years owning it. Changing settings on it is a nightmare and the HDR is terrible. Ambilight i barely use it.

The big thing i like about this tv oddly is the stand! Nice and heacy, premium feel and it swivels!!

Spot on, and there's the 65pus9206 in the 2021 range if you want a 100/120hz panel version of 'The One'... and its some £300 more, so expect similar premium in the 2022 range

I think they were asking what's the difference between the 8546 and 8506

The differences between 85x6 model versions comes down to fairly trivial differences of frame colour and which remote control is included (either with the full keyboard on back or not) and possibly stand design (although I'm less certain on that - I think stand design can differ depending of screen size more than these subtle model versions).

It's also used as a means of retailers being able to decide whether to price match or not, i. e. they'll turn round and tell you an 8546 is not the same as 8506 if they don't want to match a price. (edited)

Just be aware that the sound cuts out on the TV if you plug in headphones. May be important to some. Previous models didn't do this.

Previous models had this and all TVs I've had previously have had this. Useful for someone who is hard of hearing who needs the headphones but the TV can continue to play through the speakers. It's a common feature.

Good it is the Android model. You get discounts on Philips soundbars with this as well. Good price, the ambilight makes a difference too. If you want bigger, other sellers have the 65 inch for £100. If you want 32 inch, again, a very good deal was posted here today. Hot! (edited)

Does this model actually have full android TV?

The images do show android TV, but they keep saying Google assistant In the text implying it's got the assistant app and not the full android TV.

Also last I checked Apple TV isn't available on android TV, which these seem to support. (edited)
