Vodafone upgraded my existing sim to this deal when I contacted them through the online chat and told them I was moving to voxi. I didn't need to take an extra sim.

I need to add to my above post that I mistakenly assumed that Grazz0r and Pocktenicko were implying that these plans didn't have roaming available at all - i.e. Vodafone Basics plans, which only allow UK use.

You can roam with these but there is a £2 daily charge in the Europe Zone. I didn't know until now that you were indeed on about inclusive/free roaming with no additional charges

The only inclusive areas which carry no daily charge are Ireland and the IoM. (edited)

Yes it is. No restrictions they only apply to unlimited data plans.

I took this out but question for anyone else with additional SIMs - I can’t access Vodafone VeryMe with the additional numbers (i.e. I only have access to Vodafone VeryMe with my original Vodafone number) as it just shows “Rewards” instead of VeryMeDoes anyone else have this limitation too?

Anyone know if this is a speed cap. As in some sims are slower then others

    Luckyfrog11/03/2022 00:02

From what I've gathered the 100gb data plan doesn't have a speed cap

is correct - Any “Red” plan with a limited data allowance has no speed caps and you enjoy the full speed of 4G/5G (Signal and device capability dependent). The “Unlimited Max” plan is the only unlimited plan to enjoy no speed cap either.

Vodafone “Basic” plans or the “Unlimited” and “Unlimited Lite” plan have speed caps in place (edited)

I think it will rise if taken now but it's still going to be cheaper than some other plans out there for 100GB.

That's if you can get this without having to get an additional SIM...

Yes, so Smart Meters as an example typically schedule a reading depending on the Energy Supplier. Most I believe will send a reading once day, to feed into the metrics they produce about your energy usage (in theory a way to save you money). But Smart Meters in their form are IoT devices, use next to nothing in data....its not to say they are always disconnected or even on, but IoT is usually event driven (something happening).

The best network in the UK is EE

    The second best is Vodafone

O2 and Three are considered the worst networks by many

    Smarty runs on Three

You might consider getting a few Pay As You Go SIMs to see which network works best in your area, then when you're happy with one network try to find a cheaper Pay Monthly SIM only deal (if you're eligible, or a no-contract deal if you're not)

There are many networks that piggyback on the main 4 networks (also known as 'MVNOs'). As long as the MVNO of your choice piggybacks on either EE or Vodafone, you're generally going to be fine.

I'd recommend you take a look at VOXI if I'm honest. They use Vodafone, and there are no credit checks or contracts.

I thought lebara is on vodafone network so I told myself if I use it in mifi device thats it Lebara cuts the speed

They are not allowed to do that, sims have to be device agnostic, meaning they can;t put any restrictions on the sim regardless of the device its in. With exception if a speed cap is mentioned in the plan itself.....so if its Unlimited Lite for example it would be 2Mb or there abouts....vizzavi Ultd Max has no speed caps and thus would run at whatever the speed is in your area or location.

The "Prices May Rise Annually" blub with the submission is weirdly non-committal considering they all do it AFAIk.

It might rise by Consumer Price Index plus 3.9% on April - happens every April (it's basically inflation) if you take out this contract after April (assuming the deal is still around) you can avoid this.

wonder why then unlimited max SIM priced at £32 with max speed and …wonder why then unlimited max SIM priced at £32 with max speed and unlimited data /minutes / texts is only £2 cheaper than a unlimited Data SIM. Might as well pay £2 and take unlimited minutes/texts too.Its because they have a small print embedded in T&C which says ********DataIf you’re using the service in a way which we believe is harmful to our network we may introducecertain traffic management measures such as throttling which might reduce your speed, reduceaccess to your services, impose further charges on your account or we may disconnect yourSIM. We will attempt to notify you before any disconnection takes place***************So when we use non-Data SIM in router which acts a home broadband meaning 24/7 use we are directly breaking the above T&C. And then there is nothing we can do about it when they read out that T&C to us.

Menace is right, laws were introduced some years back so regardless of the small print it's unlikely they'll throttle you or cap your unlimited data unless you're doing something illegal.
