I figured this was a decent deal as it is priced at £70 less than on the Decathlon website. It has good reviews too.

I am a very small and not very young lady. I can get a four bed air tent up and pegged out in fifteen minutes flat by myself. A pole tent, you're looking two people and twice that timescale minimum. It is horses for courses, and you'll find people with pole tents who would never buy an air tent and vice versa. You'd be absolutely fine with this tent being waterproof, that much I can guarantee. Have you been camping before? This is my decathlon air tent. I love it. I got it for about £80 in the sale several years ago and I've more than had my money's worth
I would agree with that. Never had a drip through any of mine. (edited)
Decathlon test different to other tent makers. This is real life tested where others are just based on theory.
In order of quality (not ease) , Aluminium poles, air poles, fiberglass poles. Cotton or polycotton flysheet is far far better than polyester but much heavier and PVC groundsheets are the best and bombproof. I suggest buying a secondhand outwell lake series tent for about this price as will last forever cared for correctly (cant be put away damp). If on your own airpoles are much easier but not as ridged in strong winds as aluminium poles. Fiberglass poles just snap avoid.
I have got 4.1 version of this tent and went to camping at Kirkby Stephen last weekend. It was raining all night on Saturday and there was no problem with water leaking inside. (edited)
You can get replacement tubes for it, or just use a bicycle puncture repai kit like I did. There are only 2 inflatable beams which are easily accessible. (edited)
Hi, Decathlon have listed the dimensions of this tent when packed in the bag. It is 75 x 37 x 37 cm.
I'm not camping expert, but as my old tent didn't have sawn in groundsheet, new tent I definitely wanted with sawn in. It's just better in rainy days. Not sure if wind is a problem, more worried about wet weather.
And by looks, it looks like air beams added after tent was made and looked, don't even know how to describe, bit childish? Like beams taken from bouncy castle... but maybe it's just me
You sound very much like me lol. I've only been light back packing with a two man tent but now my lad is getting older we need a bit more space. The problem is I don't drive so it might mean putting the tent in a cart and going somewhere on train lol (or using my dad's taxi service) so that's why I am considering the weight. I have passed my driving test years ago and am thinking of getting a car but not 100% considering the current climate.
£80 for that tent of yours is a great bargain though!
I can change tyres. I can lay floors. I can dig ponds, build patios, plumb in washing machines, in fact I'm pretty handy at most things. I can cook, I own my own home, I'm financially independent and I have the cutest labrador. I sound like a right catch, I might marry myself
At least mention then mate, otherwise your words are meaningless
Too many negatives but you couldn’t share a single one with us? Really? Come to think of it that’s rather negative of you not to mention any of them
and if you have a hangover at a festival
I'm in Hull so not as close to Bradford as Leeds, thanks for the offer though, that's kind of you. I'm wondering if Decathlon have any set up in their Leeds store. I was in there last year and seem to remember they might have done.
I think Im in love. What are you like changing tyres on motorways etc? Fancy a date
Bullet points would be handy
That's one of the reasons I went for berghaus, second reason was, I really didn't like how it looked in rl. But as I didn't use mine yet i don't have useful review
I think as it can cope with 200L of water in a sqm per hour, it will be fine. The reviews certainly suggest it can cope with a downpour.
Thinking of getting one myself, but debating whether to go for the traditional pole version or the air. The pole is a fair bit lighter which is what I think I'd prefer. (edited)

So it became a tent
This was my first thought. Ive seen these in decathlon but they never seem to be able to keep the air in them and they're always sort of limping over a bit.
Perfect, thank you. I've been reading the reviews, and I am tempted.
However a few people mention that it can get quite cold with air whipping through on windy nights, as the ground sheet isn't fully attached. And for that same reason earwigs etc can easily get in. Can't decide whether to go for this at a great price new, or a second hand Berghaus Air Tent.
Yeah, I've not committed to one yet either. Good luck with what you decide.
It's not an inconsiderable amount of money, if issues do crop up... It's knowing which issues are easy to live with, and which would put a dampener on a holiday which is difficult to know, without getting firsthand experience of a particular tent. Thank you, you too!
Most of the reviews don't mention this issue about coldness and wind entry, which makes me wonder if its just when it's super windy or / and the reviewer wasn't dressed warm enough for camping which was a contributing factor in their discomfort. But in an ideal world the tent wouldn't have these design issues.
What about the appearance in real life put you off, do you think? I quite like the colour (I can imagine daylight looking more natural whilst sitting inside, particularly on a cloudy day).
Good luck with your first camping trip in the Berghaus, leave a review on HUKD once you've used it!
