cold I got a 3XL for around this price

Fair enough, but there is a mighty difference in size of the handsets, this being a nice weeny 5.6 or so, and the 3 XL a whole point 7 of an inch bigger.

The big phone store sell phones with burn in explicitly described on their ebay store, so I will assume these will be in very good condition with no screen burn (edited)

Depends what you use phone for. If you access banking apps etc, would not recommend using outdated security that is patched in newer models.

Custome ROM will make no difference as they do not touch that side of the phone, they only change the os side.

Compare as you will but something newer and currently supported would be a better choice IMO:

I'd maybe use it as a backup phone but not for main phone for Banking etc

Bought one in pristine condition, it arrived and I have to say I am *REALLY* impressed so far. Phone came 60% charged, included charging cable and SIM pin tool. Performance is snappy, the camera is good (auto focus is really quick!), fingerprint reader is nice and responsive (rear mounted too! which is something I missed from the Nexus 5X, my last Google phone)

Screen is perfect, body is almost perfect minus a couple of minor surface marks where, I assume a case has been. No worries though, as they are literally suface marks and a case will be slapped on it again anyway.

If you have been considering getting one but were not too sure, I would recommend you dive in and grab one.
The Big Phone Store have a very happy customer in me, and if this is the standard of the products they are selling, then I would definitely consider buying from them again in the future.

    Hence the wait till July

This is on budget, strike or hang fire a bit longer?

Good stuff, but I will still keep the 3a. It's so much lighter than the 3XL.

3a didn't have a decent battery life to start with so I wouldn't hold my breath.

I have pixel 5 good phone except the screen is very fragile. I got second one within a 9m. The phone slipped out of my hands and screen completely smashed. Not sure if I want another replacent. Also the screen is easy to scratch.

My wifes 3a is on it's way out. The battery can't charge other than from a slower charger. Charging from a faster charger causes the phone to go into recovery mode. The battery also doesn't last 12 hours now. I was hoping to get the 6a for her but with some of the 6 deals it sounds like I will be getting a 6 instead. Just hope it's not too big.

I've seen a few sites where this is being sold around the £100 mark, maybe a little bit more (I am prepared to pay more if the phone is in decent condition and it is from a reputable seller)
Is The Big Phone Shop any better than CeX or Next Day Mobile?
  34. JohnnyBlazeon's avatar
The Pixel 3 128gb seems to regularly go for around this price or less 2nd hand on eBay. Not refurbished of course but reckon it's better to just get one 2nd hand. Could even get a Pixel 3 XL for around £100 sometimes.

Decent phone- great price! I have one already and would recommend it. But the 3A is no longer being updated and no longer getting security updates. Please be aware of this when buying. I really like my phone, but there's no way I'd buy another unless I could get the updates. Currently it works with a version of Android 13.

There is always LineageOS, Pixel Experience etc (as long as they are maintained by the devs) And if you want to completely move away from android/google, it is well supported by Ubuntu Touch. Of course, all that is assuming you're comfortable or at least willing to put time aside to try flashing a ROM. The ROM sites do have decent guides though.

LOL Rubbish. Pixel 3 has the Titan M hardware security chip 'on that side of the phone'. Why are you telling fibs on the internet?
