Anything that is BOGOF is worth a look in my opinion. Fairly new to this stuff myself but I have tried it - seen it demo'd at a lot of deco events and it seems like a great tin to have for touch ups. Not sure at this price point you'd do a whole job with it - but for BOGOF its worth a look.
I'm told the "smart" aspect is that it will always finish perfectly. Let you decide that.

From the LT site: leylandtrade.com/pro…ace for full info.

Water-based, multi-surface paint with a mid-sheen finish. Suitable for interior surfaces like wood, metal, plaster plus wallboard, concrete, cement rendering, brickwork and blockwork.

I bought a couple 1 litre (maybe 750ml) for £10 a tin. Trief painting 2 doors thst had tired cream gloss on them. Rubbed doors first then put 2 coats of this on and finish still streaky. Wont use again. Ok as an undercoat on a radiator but again 2 coats needed on skirting boards. Im sure manufacturers claim'trade'but if the trade use this it will take a long time to get a good job and finish. Also finger marks and grime are awkward to clean off but sugar soap liquid works.

Not really. My standard practice using good quality paint & doing a room without a significant colour change are 2 coats for ceilings & walls & a primer/undercoat followed by 2 topcoats for woodwork. May need more, depends. 2nd coats are always quicker & easier than the first though. (edited)

It's a decent paint (I work for leyland) we don't sell alot of it as not many people know what it is for...... It's a do anything interior paint , suitable for most things , it isn't one coat , but if you want some tough wallpaint for not alot of money you can't go wrong , we sell it in store for well over twice that , so it's a good price

I usually read the Screwfix reviews as they tend to be a really good guide.

This one doesn't have any yet so I'd steer clear based on these comments.

At that price point , it would be a very good option , it's not what I would recommend as I would reccomend a durable type , but what I would reccomend would be about £40 + vat for a 5L by comparrison

This is professional paint, not the kind of think you get in B&Q. It's designed for people who do painting for a living, it goes on very differently to consumer paint. There was a YouTube video about it a while back, I lost the link but basically this stuff is normally more expensive than the consumer paint because it goes a lot further and is a lot faster to apply... BUT it only looks good if you know what you are doing.

S far as I'm concerned "Trade" on a tin is the same as "professional" on a bottle of cleaning stuff, it means it's watered down rubbish!

Selling cheap because UK is going from Metric back to Imperial.
In the future paint will be sold per Gallon (4.5 litres), rather than 5 litres.

Depends if you want water based or solvent. If water based, when I last looked I decided this was best for readily available satin white.

As I said "as far as I'm concerned" I've had around 40 years of buying and in my opinion "trade" or "professional" always seems to be of lower quality or maybe it's because I'm not a tradesmen I'm not using it correctly, thanks for the information anyways

Painted my living room in this. Needs a couple of coats but goes on really smooth and no brush marks where cutting in. Also pointing over scuffs and marks since painting has blended in nicely.

Have to disagree, I've used dozens of paint brands over the years and have found Dulux Trade excellent, especially their oil based satinwood.. It's my go to paint for woodwork now. Goes on lovely, settles on the surface well and doesn't yellow over time.. It's not the cheapest, but I've had other oil paints yellow within a year or two, so bit of a false economy and waste of time as you will need to redo.

I couldn't actually try all of the products so checked decorator forums online. As my user name may suggest I can spend ages checking out options befor buying. There was a general consensus that another brand was best (can't remember the name) but it was significantly more expensive and was only available by purchasing online. Bedec products came out in the best of the rest category.... The reviews on Toolstation backed up what the forums were saying. I had previously used a Bedec product and found it easy to use. Ended up buying the one in the link and ammvery happy with the ease of use and results. Whilst I like a bargain I am okay with paying more for quality if it saves time (less coats) and gives a long lasting result

Edit : Benjamin Moore was considered the better product as seen here....

The question I replied to was asking for a paint for windows. The one in the OP, which whilst it may be great, is for indoors. Exterior paint tends to be more expensive. Personally I like using emulsion paint but dislike using solvent gloss. I got on fine with the Bedec.

I would be careful using this on kitchen ceilings as you need anti-mold paint. I have gone off Leyland products a bit as they don't seem to age fantastically well but having done all my walls in their white emulsion I am kind of locked into them for the moment. Not every paint by a single brand is good, I find, so wait for reviews on this one.
