Great deal, thanks for bringing it over Only my brain has gone to mush trying to decipher the t&c. Need to claim at least 2h before the flight is scheduled and the flight needs to be delayed by at least 60min is it me or is that mutually exclusive
    Michael_Nottingham's avatar
I think it means you can register anytime as long as its at least 2 hours before your flight
Then if your flight is delayed by at least 60 minutes you get a text with a code to use

I travel loads for work and work in air traffic control. Most delays are only announced really late in case they can make up the time somehow, and you have to be at the gate about 30 minutes before the flight goes. They also only tend to delay in small amounts first then gradually increase it.

Putting this all together, by the time your flight is actually delayed by an hour, you probably don't have time to go to a lounge. Nice in theory though, but certainly not worth joining O2 for.

    Good luck getting in.

These aren’t the same as the (better) airline lounges, particularly the long haul business/first class lounge. They are pretty basic.

I get access via my bank account and also used to via Amex. In most airports they are pretty basic. If you have a long layover or flight is significantly delayed then it’s worth it. But otherwise I’ve usually not bothered and prefer to grab a coffee somewhere close to the gate.

Moreover as Unsane says, good luck getting in. Pass holders (and I presume O2) have limited slots. When it’s busy there’s often a long wait. If you pay you can of course get in, but at £30 pp I don’t see the value. You can get a decent meal for that in one of the restaurants.

With my pass, if the lounges are full I get credit at restaurants instead. So tend to do that instead

Waste of time . You’ll be back of the queue and therefore zero chance of getting into these over subscribed lounges run by militant losers. We PAID for access via a third party. But the imbeciles in Gatwick still wouldn’t let us in nor more than 50 other people . Should not be allowed. If I pay for something I expect to get it, otherwise don’t waste my time.

VIP people are first, airline booking holders, airport lounge card holder, people who book direct with the airport lounge, Amex card holders, 3rd party ticket holders. Then freebie tickets holders, fat chance you’ll get in

If you do want lounge access , book direct with the lounge and pay extra for guaranteed access (edited)

    Exactly.
They’re fully booked weeks in advance during summer so you’ll rarely get in as you will be last in the queue….

Am I reading this right, you have to know that your flight is going to be delayed. two hours before the flight is scheduled to depart? Isn't that going to curt out a lot of flights that are delayed within two hours of departure?
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
    No!
You can register now for flights that are months in the future. The 2 hour thing is to stop most people registering after their flight gets delayed.
  6. rambo_or_mark's avatar
Revolut has done this for years without the 2 hour thing. Almost a moot point because huge portion of flights will hold you at the gate anyway. Getting updates is near impossible leaving you the only option of waiting by the gate for your sanity. Pretty pointless imo. Classic HUKD though 1800°C and less than 5 people will ever get to use it even if they remember to log their flight atleast 2 hours before.

I clicked on the link but it showed unsecured and kicked me out....Is there any way to join?
    Azz's avatar
Shouldn't be like that, have you tried using a different browser, could be your WiFi settings in which case change to data
  8. littleloui04's avatar
Good luck getting access to any airport lounge if there’s more than 2 of you. Otherwise. Enjoy the freebies
    littleloui04's avatar
As a family of 5. If you have not prebooked access by a good few weeks. Availability is zero

    Hi guys,

First of all I love hotukdeals and o2 priority there are some fantastic offers on priority but given the chances of being a) delayed and b) then being in a position to use the lounge for a good amount of time then c) there being enough places left in there and d) them letting you in are few and far between. I sound negative here but it really is a long shot, probably less than 5% chance of all of it happening. It sounds like a good way of capturing everyones details to send future marketing information this one i think.

Now if they were actually given away the airport lounge pass to 1 person with no delays etc with o2 priority then we would be talking an incredible deal!
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
I registered for the same O2 offer back in 2019, but Covid decided to cancel our flight plans.
Not had any marketting hassle in the 3 years since giving all my details

Hat tip to the OP. Successfully used this on a one hour delay at Paphos airport. Family of 4 fed and watered before flight. Plenty of hot food, soft drinks, alcohol etc and reasonably quiet. Very happy.
  11. blahblahblah1234's avatar
We successfully used this on a 2 hour delay returning from Cologne/Bonn Airport last week.

A massive tip for anyone hoping to use this on a return flight back to the UK..
DON'T pass through the Schengen passport desks until you're certain your flight won't be delayed, as you won't have access to any lounges once you've passed through those desks.
We made this mistake, so we had to negotiate our way back past the border guards and have our passports re-stamped before we could go to the free lounge. Was well worth it for an hour's worth of freebies and comfy seats.
  12. jjmmww1's avatar
Pretty poor for us as the board didn't actually say delayed for us but we had a 1 HR 47 min delay and pass sent after we got on the plane so have r passes for any Gatwick lounge for the next 14days we won't be able to use
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
I didn't realise the lounge pass is valid for 14 days. Just checked mine and it also doesn't specify the airport location, it just says 'Valid at LoungeKey participating lounges'.
Technically, you could use it at any airport if within 14 days, and you can find a participating lounge.

Thanks, on holiday now registered for my return flight. Now do I hope its delayed or not
And yes, I still check hukd on holidays
    Mentos's avatar
Asking for trouble mate. What if there’s a massive glitch local to you and you’re on holiday. You’d have to swim back
  14. Michael_Nottingham's avatar
I think the idea is you register before you know your flight is delayed
  15. maccalen's avatar
So much negativity on this post for something that's free! If you get access, great! If not, then you've lost nothing.

Flying out tomorrow from Manchester let's see what happens :/
    elonmusk's avatar
    So, what happened
  17. joannebradley77's avatar
Used today and wow.. amazing offer. Drinks were just soft drinks, orange juice beer, coffee/tea and Prosecco. Food was just crisps of biscuits.. It was a lovely peaceful area away from the bust airport. As we’ve both got 02 we’d booked 2 x 1hr slots as our flight was delayed..
  18. Leighinibiza's avatar
Cardiff Airport not included, there’s a surprise. Quite possible the worst run airport in the world.

Also registered for holiday in October/November. Great deal thanks!!!

Wow. Well beyond the "please register 2hours before your flight" (edited)
  21. robot1000's avatar
Does it have to be assigned to the O2 number or can you enter an number from any network?
    goodgrr's avatar

    Replying to

Thanks for the reminder that Virgin Media is included, I was just thinking "shame I'm not with O2" :-)
  22. boble's avatar
I think this is likely to lead to the absolute Chaos. Many lounges will simply not be able to cope.
  23. DanBro's avatar
Aww that's a shame, we will not be flying out till end of November
    gener4l_carnage's avatar
Did you follow it though and check your specific dates/flight numbers, I can see that you have to apply by 05/11/22 but cant see what date flights have to be taken by at the latest?

Great thanks so much have registered for my holiday in September
  27. nholt24's avatar
Thanks, just done this for our flight home. We had the same thing included with our travel insurance a few years ago and had no issues using it in Gran Canaria. We were the only family in the lounge!
  28. kidcharlemagne3's avatar
Is there any way of getting this if your not on O2 or could I just get an O2 sim and register? I'm on 3 so if anyone wanted to do a swap for some 3 rewards we could do that
    jamesrobertkerr1997's avatar
What Three rewards is it you have?
  29. gener4l_carnage's avatar
Thanks OP. I've registered me and 3 Pals for our September trip to Spain.

I cant see in the FAQ's for looking if there's any date limitations on the flights other than the last registration date is by 05/11/22, have another flight next April so wondering if that may be applicable for the priority reward when I can re-apply next month?

    Thank you for posting.

And finally people are realising the value of these lounges. Have a delay or a lay over on a connecting flight. Or had a long drive with not much food and drink. Then paying for lounge access is truly worth it.

Especially true of airport with not much facilities. So I wouldnt bother at the main EU airports. But worth its weight in gold in airports with less facilities.

Giving it away free is not a good idea though.

Airline operated lounges rather than these paid for airport lounge are usually better. Some you can pay for too.
  32. deleted89378's avatar
Columbus direct travel insurance also has similar lounge arrangements.
  33. mjccam's avatar
My bank currently gives me this and I've used it a few times when delayed. As others have said, if your flight is delayed then the likelihood is you wont have booked a lounge and at peak traveling periods you will simply be turned away. If you want guaranteed access then book direct with the lounge. Some lounges are good and some are just OK, but as this is technically a freebie if you're on O2 then cant complain too much!
    bubblegum99's avatar
Which bank account is that with? Is it one you pay monthly for additional perks?
  34. BeardFace's avatar
Thanks OP. Wouldn't have noticed this before our holiday. Heat! 🔥

Aren’t there usually multiple lounges, for different airlines? Which lounge does this apply to?

    Particularly for Luton….
    KeyboardKitten's avatar
Usually will apply to the third party lounges, oneworld, star alliance and sky team lounges are only for their customers and access for delays is provided at their discretion
