The Samsung Store UK online is offering trade-ins for any old smartphone if you buy the new Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro.

You get £50 off if you buy a Watch 5 and £100 off if you get a Watch 5 Pro

Worth it if you've got a cheap old watch to trade in, but might be worth waiting for better trade-in deals if you want to trade up, say, a Galaxy Watch 4.

What's the new DBuckle style strap like?
I can change the strap type to the standard ridge style and save £30 or order with no strap and save £54, so wondering what's good about the new strap design?

FYI there are two known bugs

    1. You cannot add master cards to to google pay
    2. You cannot download new watch faces from the Samsung Wearable app

Loving my pro even though tit still feels MASSIVE. 24 hours in and it at 67% battery

Pretty rubbish trade in this!! Managed to get a galaxy watch 4 classic 3 weeks after release for about £10 with trade in offer and £75 google play voucher

I agree not a good trade in deal, except if all you've got is a cheap old smartwatch to trade in and you desperately want a Watch 5.
I think it will be worth waiting for better offers from Samsung if you want to trade in something worth more, like Watch 4.

No rotating bezel, no purchase. No idea what Samsung were thinking. I'll keep my GW4. By the time I'm ready to upgrade I can only hope Samsung have come to their senses - and returned the bezel on the GW6

Seems a very marginal upgrade. Maybe get 3 days on a charge and a skin temp sensor added. It doesn't really get my interest.

Even though I can't use the bezel as I can't get any grip on it (I even got a nice knurled metal bezel ring addon) and no joy, but it looks great!. Not having it would impair my overall experience.

Got the classic 4 LTE last week for £89.99, bezel is a vote winner for me. A Sammy without a Bezzey is no Sammy at all.

I am very skeptical about Samsung delivering on what they say they will. As like active 4, some of the enhanced features aren't available until a later date which includes most of the new Samsung health features. So its seems pointless upgrading unless you desperately want the increased battery life.

It should also be pointed out active 4 was supposed to have Google Assistant and it still hasn't arrived yet on it. The new watch doesnt even mention it.

It took a while to get it running. It wouldn't load for a very long time on the phone app. Just and endless circle. After about an hour it finally loaded. Seems to be working now. Thanks for the heads up. I can't stand the useless built in assistant.

Email I received this afternoon has the same trade in offers but are including a pair of the buds live (RRP £139).

I've got a Galaxy 3 Frontier and I'm thinking about upgrading but not 100 percent sure though. (edited)

I've got the Galaxy S3 Frontier as well. Had it since 2018 so I'm tempted.

I managed to get the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro down to £254.60 with a discount and a trade in. It says any smartwatch, so an old Pebble Watch is what I'd be sending.

got the discount via a work thing called Wider Wallet. I'm assuming it's the same for NHS, Blue light etc. I think it goes via the EPP Program. (edited)

A day later and I got more of a discount. £236.60 for the Galaxy Watch Pro 5. Ordered!!! Will be a decent upgrade from the S3 Frontier I've been using for the last 3 1/2 years.

I had a quick look and it seems Samsung is now charging extra for basic sports straps with the series 5 watches. Like £26 cheapest.

What's the story with the bands? You don't get one as standard?
    FubarKid's avatar
Of course u do,its in the pic

No you don't. £34 for the basic sports strap. And you can't delete it from your basket at checkout and use an old strap. They're also flogging more expensive straps with it.

The 4 was disappointing. Battery didn't last a day. The percentages mentioned don't give me faith it'll be hugely better. I downgraded to a Huawei GT2 Pro and get nearly 2 weeks now. Mkre basic but not a hassle and it looks good. The Galaxy Watch had everything, but not for very long!
  15. lucifon's avatar
I'd want the Pro for the battery but the bezel is just awful, it really is a bulky ugly device. But the battery on the base models just isn't even a tangible option for me.

Can you send a fitness watch like a Huawei band for example or has to be a proper Smartwatch? Just looking to buy cheapest watch to trade in to get the £100 off

Last time they offered this, I sent a really really basic and very cheap no-brand watch band and got the discount. It was a fitness band but it had a screen with a watchface. Does that make a difference?!

Currys are offering extra £50 on top of trade in value, plus you can get 15% topcashback (edited)
  18. rash_007's avatar
Hi, does anyone know if I order from Currys and use the trade in do I order then trade in or do the trade in and then order ? Which one do you do first ? Thanks

Using student discount and trading in a Xiaomi watch I can get this for £178 with the earbuds. Is that a good enough deal to pull the trigger? Or will it drop even more in the next few weeks do ya reckon?

Is this for the 40mm or the 44mm size? Looks like a pretty good deal to me
