This is an amazing deal for any non-bt customers, I recently took out the Fibre100 for £30.99 and it's quite good so to get 5x the download speed for the same price is a bargain.

The monthly price will increase next year by CPI + 3.9% (around 13%), so the total you pay will always be more than £753.75:

I've been with BT and Virgin, they seem to have cleaned up their act since taking over EE. They're all about just as equally useless, so it's just who's giving you the best price in your area.
  2. simontimmins's avatar
CPI + 3.9% increase each year. I was once on a 2 year deal with BT and rates went up 3 times.
    luffydude's avatar
It's insane that they put a clause saying they will increase the price of your service no matter what, despite operating an internet service barely has any operation expenses. Just pure state sponsored corporate greed

If an alternative network such as community fibre, brsk, youfibre, etc is in your area go support them and break the BT mafia monopoly
  3. H0lySm0kes's avatar
Virgin contract coming to an end and tempted to move. There’s this or Vodafone full 900gb for £30 a month. Would go Vodafone but not sure if I trust them with internet haha. Anyone have experience? Comments on here are swaying towards BT if the router is decent. Heard the Vodafone one is pretty terrible

If you do go with BT or Vodafone make sure you use top cashback, they'll pay you £80 something now for all their fibre packages. I personally would go with BT at this price as their support is excellent and vodafone can be a bit hit and miss in regards to support.

Miss leading pricing as they put prices up every April
    Danielle71's avatar
Does anyone pay their asking prices? I haggle the heck out of them, don't get what I want call again the next day and always meet somewhere in the middle, usually to my advantage.

Solid service. Used BT and never had any issues. Couple of outages in 8 years and excellent support. Easy to use own router which negates any wifi pain etc

I’ve been with BT for nearly 2 years on full fiber and have only lost connection once, when the cable was damaged, it was fixed within hours.

My only issue with them is when you take the landline, their charges for calls and line rental are stupid.
  8. macamask's avatar
Hate BT, I’m in contract for another 12 months, basically put the price up on me a few months into contract, and now 12 months down the line they’re touting my product for pretty much half price!! Way to go BT! Absolute joke! And if you’re with them never ever ever alter a service, because they reset your two year contract! (edited)

I think they've been trained to be firm and stand their ground especially after this deal went live. They've been given the same script to follow. "I'll ask my team leader give me a minute... He said no. But we can offer you a worse deal."
  10. devilsadv0cate's avatar
Just in case it's not clear to all... this is broadband only

It does say "No Landline" in the photo, It's an extra £5pm for a landline though and pretty useless for people like me who don;t use one; Vodafone do the same deal for 99p less which includes a landline.
  11. Ned_Kelly's avatar
If it matters to you , you can't split the WiFi channels of the sh2 router, but good price
    Danielle71's avatar
Remember before they reintroduced that, had a sh2 in the final tests and most moaned about it not being available.

If u don't ever have the need to contact BT they're good, good connection and best Hub I've had. If u do ever need to contact them however, .... ... .

Yes I've had that experience and spent over three hours of my work time on calls.

Has anyone managed to upgrade from a current bt contract? I have ff 150 with 8 months left currently at £38 and wondered if its worth a phone call Tuesday?

Edit...just seen only offering to increase speed for a £1 more (edited)
    yusuflimz's avatar
I called but I'd rather have had a colonoscopy than go through that again. Both agents were just trying to force feed my their mobile deals and saying there's nothing I can do to upgrade (My contract ends in 3 months). So after having the BT contact us page open for some time a popup for Live chat came up. In my last ditch effort I tried and hit the jackpot with a fantastic agent. He advised me to cancel my current contract and pay the £48 early cancellation fee and then started me on a new contract. Old contract was £40 / 100Mbps, new contract is £30.99 / 500Mbps. So 5 times the speed and £9/month saving.
  14. Potterified's avatar
So, a little help needed here please. When I go onto the website and enter my address in, it shows me 100Mbps for £30.99, 500Mbps for £40.99. The former has a one month speed boost to 500Mbps for free.

Is that what I'm being offered, end of? Or is there another step to get the higher speed for £30.99?

Sorry for the daft question but I'm genuinely confused.

Might be worth a call, probably just worth saying you see a special offer stating Full Fibre 500 for £30.99.

Just got Bt Fibre 500 installed on 16th Sept few days back, anyone know as the page is stating my address is £30.99 and 9.99 delivery. I have signed up to £40.99 and paid £29.99 for router delivery. Do you have cooling off period if a deal better is available they price match ?
    mark9915's avatar
Cooling off period is normally 14 days - good luck
  16. adamski88's avatar
on fibre 100, 2 weeks left of contract, they say they can see this offer but cant apply it to my account. shocking. Cheapest they can do it £39.99
    DealBandit1's avatar
They can do anything, they just choose not to. When I renewed my account, they told me that I wasn't eligible for the new customer pricing and when I threatened to switch, they said they've decided to give me the lower price after speaking with their manager. It all depends on how much leverage you have against them. They're making you wait the 2 weeks possibly knowing that the deal will end and you'll be out of luck (just speculation).

Edit: I just looked at my billing cycle, I renewed a little over 2 weeks early. Probably worth talking to someone else. (edited)

    Hi All,

Progressed with a complain based on

A). BT closed my complaint down without even an acknowledgement
B). I felt it unfair that if I was a new customer I would get this offer 30 mins down the road with a different postcode

A lot of backwards and forwards but eventually upgraded from Fubre 100 to 900 for £1 a month extra with new contract. Very happy with that.

And I appear to also be getting a 12 month Xbox voucher that seem to sell online for £15ish.

    Hope this helps others.
    ArthurDealy's avatar
Which department of BT sorted this? Do you reckon the will do the same where My postcode gets Fibre 500 for £45.99, yet others get it for £30.99?
  19. RedbrickJam's avatar
Anyone managed to get this deal by ringing and asking for it when its not showing for your area online?
    Jim_Whitegr1's avatar
Tried, but BT denied the deal existed and stated it was not showing our the system
  20. SSDD's avatar
I'm in contract on the 150 package and they would not upgrade at this price over the phone, saying I was not eligible as I was still in contract. Best they could do was £39.99, no thanks.
    D476's avatar
Raise a complaint and keep going with it. I got fibre 900 for an extra £1 a month in the end.
  21. Xaar's avatar
I just went onto the web chat and after an initial back n forth I was offered this:
    15:14, Nov 4
Luke: We would not be able to as we would take over the current account and it will allocate a new number. Is a landline needed at all? if so to have the basic plan it would be pay as you go £5 a month! Good few options for you!

full fibre 900 for £40.99 + £5 pay as you go
Full Fibre 500 with Complete Wi-Fi £35.99 + £5 pay as you go
full fibre 500 £30.99 all for 24 months! +£5 pay as you go

Only if landline is needed? which one is better for you?

I stuck with the FF900 reducing my current payment from £68.50 to £45.99 (includes phone)

My renewal date was 40 days from now FWIW (edited)

…Philip Jansen, the telecoms company’s chief executive, said a price rise forecast to be 13pc - adding £53 to the average bill will go ahead. Inflation rate plus 3.9% is a complete rip-off. Leaves little confidence in industry regulation!

I do wonder if they do these deals in areas where Virgin Media has a stronghold.
  24. InDaHouse's avatar
Congrats to those who can get this. Seems to be few select areas only.

    Shows this for me:

Broadband only - no landline phone
    £45.99 a month
    24 month contract
    £29.99 upfront
    stonks's avatar
Yeah same, making it cost 50% more depending on where you live is not a great way to treat customers.
  25. tahir1231's avatar
FTTP is brilliant and recommend for those who can get in their area. I am with TalkTalk 500 and landline on voip with anytime free calls. Not had an issue. Will look at deals when my contract is up in 18 months

I think there's serious competition now that there's BT, Virgin Media, Hyperoptic and CityFibre all chipping away.
  26. shaney1986's avatar
There seems to be quite a few of you who dont like BT. Not sure why, I have been with them for several years and never had any issues. When I was with Virgin though constant drop outs, Virgin are the ones to avoid.
    mark9915's avatar
From experience BT were OK until you got an issue and then the problems started
  27. JR1986's avatar
3.9% on top of inflation is scandalous! And then you see the pay offer for their workers is about half of this!!
  28. avivalasvegas's avatar
I called BT's value and loyalty- I was told that they are unable to offer this deal to me (and that they don't even see the option of offering this deal to any customer). She did share two things:

    1) I'm not the first caller about this deal that they cannot match

    2) I will be getting a call back from her manager to discuss this matter.

I'm curious about the legal ramifications of offering a deal to some customers who call but not to others? Was there anything specific shared when calling BT representatives in order to get this deal?
  29. D476's avatar
Anyone managed to get BT to honour this deal whilst in a current BT contract? Escalated it to management after being told no on phone, but they just closed the case down with not even a response.
    dbeach's avatar
no joy for me with exec office. They denied this deal existed & that do competitor lead/regional pricing
  30. Waynej's avatar
Tried my luck on web chat... I didn't have any luck at all.

They were having none of it, despite me pointing out that they have honoured this deal for other customers in existing contracts. they just kept banging on about how when I joined last month that I had a 14 day cooling off period. I do agree with BT in this regard, they're not wrong, but when you can see they will bend the rules for other customers who are also in a lengthy contract, then it's not really on.

If they can offer the discounted deal to other customers who are in a pre-existing contract, then they should offer it to all that enquire about it.

I just used the same link and it worked for my address, I believe the deal ends in 11 days so it maybe be worth calling and asking. They said they'd do a free upgrade to Full Fibre 500 after being with them for 3 months.

Have been with BT forever and have always wanted to move. Cant fault the service but their prices creep up and with landline on top you end up paying a lot more than you want. However friends have had everything from Vodafone to Virgin and have been equally desperate to move. Trooli have been dropping leaflets through my letterbox so might give them a go.
    deleted2299370's avatar

TBF they're pretty much all the same, I think it really depends when you take out my contract as my last one with virgin media guaranteed no price hikes.

Nice deal, I had Fibre 500 with landline for £47 a month, probably why they offered me the 900 for £48 to keep me locked in at a higher price. If I didn't upgrade I would have tried to get this deal.

Appearing for me in BT4. On the fence between going for this as a retention offer as my contract is up, or holding off to black Friday and seeing what other providers have then.

BT have been amazing since they took over EE. Literally is unbreakable broadband and one time I had an issue, it was resolved within 15mins and they gave me £20 for the hassle.

They used to be horrendous but something has definitely changed lately.
