To save you the anticipation of the postcode checker, the toob coverage area broadly includes areas south of the M3 and west of the M23, so if you're nowhere near there then you can just be disappointed now. (edited)

I just joined toob they are pretty good, it’s worth noting that it is unlikely that you will get anywhere near 900mbs over WiFi, max I get is 300. Also the customer support is fine as long as you have a problem in office hours, if you have a problem in the evenings and weekends you will find it’s just an answer phone.
    Edwardee's avatar
Wifi is restricted by your router/ phone’s wifi chips , usually 300mbps means your phone only have limited number of antenna so maximum capacity is ~300
Using direct lan connection should show speed near 900mbps

Why would you pay this when you can get 5G at £6 a month from three? How fast is 5G compared to fibre and wouldn’t 5G be more than enough for most people? My internet is around 70mbps and I have no problems streaming 4K live sports.
    yle_Braybok's avatar
5g is great for watching films and surfing the Web etc BUT your ping is horrible so if your a gamer you will have a bad time indeed, I did the weighing up last year and for me I couldn't deal with the ping

we have been with Toob for a year now and all i can say is, DO IT.
    full fibre to the house
full advertised speed, up n down
no outages, no throttling, no crap promisses
get a decent mesh / router on it and you are good to go.

Got three deco M9. Good WiFi all round and wired if needed. Decent app

I made the move from Virgin (ditched all their services) to Toob a year ago and its brilliant. Excellent service and always above 900Mbps every time I have checked. This I think is their usual offer as I also remember receiving an Amazon voucher when I joined which was £50 if I recall.

Do you watch live tv, if so what device do you use for it, and can it pause?
    Thanks

Been using toob for nearly a year. It took them 9 months to install it because they reuse the BT poles to run their fibre and the metal ones are all at capacity.

9 months it took them to attach a bracket and run a 100foot cable from the closest wooden pole to the metal one and then to my house.

It was totally worth the wait. I've had two outages. One was during the day and toob sent emails apologising and the second one was during the middle of the night and was working again by 7am.
    itschris's avatar
What was the install like? Not sure I want yet another hole drilled in the wall with another box fixed on both the inside and outside. Does the box they fit to the inside wall take up much space?
  7. Stranded87's avatar
I'll echo others in saying Toob is great. I get consistently very high speeds (almost 900Mbps when next to the router, and over 500Mbps everywhere), and I've only had one outage in about six months (which was overnight so only impacted me briefly before bed). All that, and it's a fair bit cheaper than BT was for much lower speeds.

I do have some complaints and concerns though - they took literally months to get me up and running for various reasons, and communication was poor. So I wouldn't cancel your old plan until this is installed (that's always good advice, but especially here). The router they supplied also didn't cut it for me personally, so I replaced it, but that's typical with ISPs.

Is this offer fixed at £25pm for 18 months with no annual increases???

    Yep

Does anyone know if the EBay Community Fibre add ons work with Toob? Looks like the same brand / type
    Garyd2013's avatar
Yes they work fine I’m using a couple to extend the router that toob supplied to create a mesh network. I have the toob router on the middle floor and one upstairs and one downstairs. Covers the whole house and most of the garden. The garage where it doesn’t quite reach I have used TP Link AV1300 power line adapters I’m getting 950mbs up and down and 600mbs up and down over WiFi. Speeds are excellent.

One day a competitor to VM will get as far as Teesside, one day...

I live in Teesside and I’m with YouFibre. Have been for nearly 18 months

The "Check Availability" button is disabled for me. Anyone else with the same issue?
    Danger_Mouse's avatar
You entered your postcode just above it?
  12. chillikhancarne's avatar
So annoying how none of these are available in Birmingham. Cracking deal though OP.
  13. m0rf3u5's avatar
Good price but I have a 5-character postcode which the site can't even process
  14. VeedubyaGTi's avatar
Looks a great deal. I'd be all over this and dump Virgin, but not in my area yet

Like about 90% of the UK population then.

very limited deal for a very limited area of the UK
  16. Danger_Mouse's avatar
Been with Toob a few months now and for the most part it's been great, I'm using my own Asus router along with their ONT box, which works great, though I've had to use a different DNS service (cloudflare) as Toob's has been a bit flakey on occasion (edited)
    Dealster1's avatar
I recommend changing dns service to either Quad9 Or 1.1.1.2 anyway over default isp
  17. riprui's avatar
No fibre to my property once again -_-
  18. phantomx's avatar
Would be nice if you could check your postcode it doesn't work
    Danger_Mouse's avatar
    Works here
  19. Delawar_Ali66E's avatar
Hmmm that's not a great deal though, I work for community fibre and I'll be able to offer a far more better offer than what was posted by the OP.

What are the chances of this tinpot provider being within 100 miles of me...
  21. Sulphur.Man's avatar
This is due in my road. It's been "coming" for near three years.....
Currently a VM customer on 250Mb, which has been largely ok for several years now with the 18-month haggle usually reaching something tolerable for loyalty, but Toob slaps them on price. The competition would be very welcome, when it eventually arrives.
The TOOB name is a misnomer. They're erecting masts to run the service around here
  22. doe's avatar
They don't cover UK! Doh! Look like Hampshire coast only (edited)
    Garyd2013's avatar
I think you’ll find Hampshire is in the UK so technically they do cover the UK.
  23. ST30's avatar
shame it is not quite ready in my area, available few roads up but I had to change contract with VM.
  24. Sound.as.a.'s avatar
we've got city Fibre going in, what I find strange for a Government backed scheme is companies charging different amounts for the same service. If I want this it's going to cost me near double – why?
  25. TravisScott's avatar
Service is great but unfortunately they provide you with an awful router with terrible range. I ended up setting up a WiFi mesh system and that solved all of my signal and speed issues.
    deleted1945554's avatar
Every ISP provides rubbish routers so buy your own.
  26. szumiwoda1's avatar
    Doesn't work for me either
  27. DoublePortingDad's avatar
    Symetrical. That is interesting.
  28. simonnj's avatar
Extra £8 / month for a routable ipv4 address which you will need for some games. But on the plus side they do give you an IPV6 block which in some cases will mitigate the IPV4 problem. (edited)
  29. mango.carrot's avatar
We got fibre installed about two years ago now, but for some reason they still haven’t turned it on. I don’t understand the point of it
  30. Prittstick's avatar
    Not in their area😔
  31. g00ner82's avatar
Have to be a right toob to get this ? . Looks cool if you can get it in your area ! Think it’s south only though
  32. aLV426's avatar
Unfortunately you are not in a location where toob currently plan to deliver broadband. Please keep an eye on our website for updates. Thank you for your interest in toob.

99% of people who try get the same message... You are not alone!

There should be a message in the post that summarises where it's available. If a mod or someone can update? As this will be borderline local deal.
  33. yogibear25's avatar
I have had toob for over a year and have to say its the best ever, top speeds always, only bad bit is the range on the router is poor,

Whats the best booster or mesh i can get which extends the range further.
    Thanks in advance.
  34. Altirix's avatar
aw man, i just got their £50 voucher a few weeks ago. oh well. i recommend them if you have city fiber in your area.

you really shouldn't need a static IP. use ngrok or buy a VPS (£1 per month) and iptables/wireguard your home servers out on the VPS IP
  35. Aeterna's avatar
    Wow what an incredible deal!!
  36. cynikev's avatar
I've been watching and waiting for Toob in my area (between Southampton and Winchester) for well over a year now. At first we were designated "future build" right on the edge in an "in design" area, then we went to "in design", but now we've gone back to "future build", all the while other areas that were not even mentioned now have service :-( (edited)
  37. soton26's avatar
I;ve had Toob for nearly a year now and it's great. I run my own opnsense router/unifi AP and pay the £8/month for a routable IP but for £33/month it's a bargain.
  38. greenlump's avatar
Toob signs are currently up on poles and pavements in my area, I look forward to taking advantage of this offer.
  39. Strato77's avatar
Best internet provider out there, if Toob is in your area, just go for it!
  40. slybunda's avatar
What network is this using? Cityfiber?
    ch7leach's avatar
They are in my area. Or will be. CF are currently doing work around my road
