WOW super surprised to see this at this price, guess the other supermarkets will follow shortly. Surely this has to be a loss leader though, they can't be making any profit on it but I suppose if it gets people in the supermarket to do a big shop its a win win situation.

I deal in this world and can say with some certainty that it's ALWAYS a loss leader - they actually allocate the loss as part of their marketing campaign.

However, Alchohol inflation is a lot lower than overall inflation, and the markup on Baileys has always been large. Baileys themselves would have had larger leeway, and likely locked their wholesale price for the Christmas period

If inflation continues, then this could indeed be the last year at this price

Will it be this price in the smaller stores( if it was Tesco’s I’d say it was Tesco Express) ? Thanks in advance.

In the terms at the bottom of the email with the offer it states "Offer Price £10.00 Was £22.00 (£10.00/ltr) Offer available from 16/11/2022 – 20/11/2022. Excludes Locals. Subject to availability."

so whatever happened to inflation, I'd say ninety percent of the increases are just rip-offs

Alcohol inflation is lower than overall inflation, and branded items have bigger markups, so have more leeway

Besides that, supermarkets still use these key items to draw in shoppers in the approach to Christmas.  It was always going to be £10/l
  13. Cooling_Deals's avatar
I don't know about you guys, but this officially marks the start of Christmas for me

When Baileys goes down to £10 a litre, you know Christmas is just around the corner Thanks a lot OP.

A few years back, the 70cl bottles were going for £2.50 on amazon fresh with a 2-year expiry date.

I must have loaded up with 40 bottles. Half my coffee was Baileys for the next few years. Good times.

    Happy days.

You must buy 100 bottles not to run out.

I really like the Lidl version but for this price I'll treat us to the branded one. Thanks hoping Tesco do the same offer so I can get my staff discount on top (edited)
  17. robertsbrn's avatar
With the price of milk on the up it will be cheaper to pour this on your cornflakes

    IT’S CHRISTMAAAAS!
    Loveabargain99's avatar
No, at £9.99 it will feel like Christmas
  19. Skybird's avatar
I wonder if Tesco will reduce theirs as yesterday they had 1 litre bottles for £21 ,reduced to £16 with Clubcard, another Rip-off.

Made in Dublin but will have to travel to the north of Ireland to get this price. Got to hate greedy governments with minimum alcohol pricing
    hiimnewhere's avatar
Why would Donegal have it cheaper than Dublin?
  21. blahblahblah1234's avatar
Can guarantee Amazon will price match for £10.
Can also guarantee, after an hour, they'll be saying dispatch in 1 to 2 months
  22. Pandarino's avatar
I'm assuming tesco will do it for £9.
    banshee3099's avatar
    Or £30 without club card

I'm glad to see this in Sainsburys. I won't bother with Tesco this year.
  30. Cozzy35's avatar
I thought for sure it wouldn't go below 12 quid this year with the way everything is going. I'm relieved, but my arteries, waistline, and liver won't be!!! (edited)
  31. raverbhoy's avatar
Il tell you what. Aldi version of baileys is top notch and only £4 odds. Little less abv right enough. Heat for this though its still a good find
    B_Marvel's avatar
It's decent for what it is but not really a sub for the real thing.

I bought 15 bottles last year, hoping it would last me the year.

I ran out about 5 weeks ago. I intend to buy 18 bottles this year.
  37. djssniper's avatar
I need to stop buying this, I can easily finish a bottle of this then found out it was 3,280 calories in there.. no wonder I put on so much weight at xmas
