If any one would like to view this tv sonic direct have it on display in Bradford i did a 3 hour round trip to view it a few weeks priced at £3600
I spent about 40 minutes messing with it
gaming on the ps 5 etc
the size is incredible but wasn’t to inmpressed with the PQ
    gaming was cool
    there are
48761616-S7Z17.jpg YouTube videos the model number is the tcl 754
    Crossbow's avatar
Yeah, I suppose PQ is always going to suffer for the size & not being an OLED or better tech screen than the current model.
Thanks for the pic & mini review

I have a 77inch in a 45m2 room and it's more than big enough. Have a 120inch projector screen for movies etc but I wouldn't want that for daily watching.

Id struggle to see most normal houses having the wall space for this, let alone the viewing distance.

It's all about size in today's society, get the biggest TV you can regardless of how small your house/living room is

Same with cars, get a German car 100% or more than your salary on finance, it's a want not need culture, everyone trying to beat the Jones with easy credit

Hope it's better than the 75" version I sent back cos that was rubbish.

I went to collect one of these from Thurrock today. Yes I needed to rent a van as it is enormous. Going to install later. There was 2 left (3 originally)

I just realised big TVs bankrupted cineworld.
    2861445's avatar
More likely the rise of streaming services e.g. Netflix, COVID, and the postponement of the Bond movie.

Or it could be the cameras they told everybody they've installed to stop people making out at the back.. (edited)

This will make a nice divider in my room thx.

The cardboard on the next models will be impregnated with cement, so you can just spray it with water and then use it to construct the extension required to house the new screen.

I can wall mount this, right?

No its designed to replace your carpet. (edited)

This is a very strange Item. If you can fit a 98" TV in your house then you have a ridiculously large house and have plenty of money. Which in that case you're not going to be buying a TCL tv. On the other hand, If this is your budget for this size TV then the TV is way too big for your house and you shouldn't be buying it, and the only reason you would buy it is to show off to your mates.
    Ultrathon1's avatar
I have a modest 3 bed semi. My current 75'' TV sits in the middle of a wall opposite the sofa, with a door through to the kitchen at the side. I could easily fit this TV on that wall with room to spare, and my wallet would appreciate the value of this TCL opposed to premium brands. Every house is different, so your assumptions that people cram TVs that are "way too big your house", or live in huge mansions are a little off and are slightly offensive.

Of course, a 98'' TV would take up almost the entirety of said wall and would probably look ridiculous, so there is that.. but what people buy and why shouldn't really be any of your concern.
  15. ayeworld's avatar
Is this the same spec as their US tvs? (edited)
    MrPisch's avatar
Apparently it’s a latter model with 2000 dimming zones against the 100 the American ones on YouTube have
  16. 0m4d's avatar
So it has full array and micro dimming apparently... That's a lot of inches for the money! Prob need to hire a van thou... Omg I want one

It's prob lucky this is online only... I'm mental busy this week so don't think I'd have time to hire a van, if this was available for delivery thou, even if they rounded up to £2800... I'd be very tempted
    sheffield788's avatar
I think you should be more concerned how you'll get this in your house and especially up the stairs if you want it in your bedroom 😃. The box of my 65 inch TV was nearly the size of the front door.
  17. Zedmeister's avatar
Would be tempted if it was delivered. Do they do the van hire still?

There is an unboxing video which says you can't lay it down to transport and you need 4 people to move it around (edited)
    MrPisch's avatar
most large tvs say do not lay down, its stop flexing of the screen, and probably to stop things being put on it side as well
  18. hardstylemw's avatar
Nice, now to move houses so I have a big enough wall to hang it on.
  19. ThePicPlug_'s avatar
At this price better to get a projector tbh
    Usman_Dar's avatar
Will a projector give you the same colours and brightness at this price?
  20. lehaandreev's avatar
the moment my LG 77 OLED looks tiny in comparison. Is the actual qualtity of this any good? Heat purely for the size though
    Pokerkingbouch's avatar
I was going to swap my C183 for this tv but after seeing it in person I’m afraid it don’t come even close to oled
I was amazed how much bigger it looked over my 83 but just couldn’t bring my self to drop so much in PQ
Gaming on this tv is awesome but would still prefer to game on the oled (edited)

Voted hot on account of the size and price. Is it a great TV probably not.
    ayeworld's avatar
It was reviewed on YouTube, and it looked impressive. Whether it's the same specs as the US version I'm not sure. It's better than a projector, at this price.

    Insane.

I just mentioned to a mate my 75" was looking small....but paid less than 600 for that...so for extra inches at that cost I'll stick with what I've got!
  29. gsamsa's avatar
If this TV was only two inches more. You look more awesome if you say you have a 100inches TV rather than a mere 98inches... (edited)

Bargain…..might buy two for my spaceship 🚀

as others have said, a quality 4K LASER projector is a much better buy at this price and size
    Pokerkingbouch's avatar
This would beat all 4k projectors at this price point for black levels brightness colours and also gaming
I did see this almost at the side of the hisense 4k laser Projector and the hisense looked shocking washed out blacks etc (edited)
  32. slo_moshun's avatar
Bathroom in the caravan sorted while I brush me pegs. Heated.
  33. djp2k8's avatar
Ummm, just buy a projector? Would be cheaper
  34. Tony_DR's avatar
    Brightness and # FALD zones?
    Pokerkingbouch's avatar
I believe this as 240 dimming zone and the peak brightness is 450 nits
  35. hartdave's avatar
    81KG !!!
    Agloop's avatar
    It’s definitely not 81kg. Around 50
  36. Franklin_Goodwin's avatar
How is this a good deal? A Hisense 50 inch 4K QLED TV can be bought for £299. Unless people are just adding heat because it's 98 inches. That price for a mid tier brand QLED is not it. I'd say they saw you coming if you buy this TV for THAT price
    MrPisch's avatar
a 97" LG OLED is £25,000 how is it not an amazing deal for the size, the first 100" TVs were over £100k!

making huge TVs is very expensive, or it was (edited)
  37. sjmleicester's avatar
Look at the size of that thing
  38. Agloop's avatar
This is a (surprisingly!) very, very good tv. Compared to my 2020 8k Samsung (75 inch) and LG oled (75 inch) I actually prefer it. I think it’s the sheer size as opposed to picture quality (which is still very good)
    popolou's avatar
Be sure to wrap up, bearing in mind viewing distances it’s cold in the garden this time of year.
  39. supergran's avatar
    Cheaper than double glazing!
  40. emyLo90's avatar
Any ideeas if it will fit in a Vauxhall corsa ??
    jazzist's avatar
    Boxed dimensions are here: hotukdeals.com/com…940

It won't even fit in my Jogger (estate 7 seater); even loaded at 45 degrees (hypotenuse) the height of the box will be wider than the boot aperture and the width of the boxed TV is way longer than the complete boot even with the middle row folded

In its box it's 2/3rds the height of a house door, it's HUGE.

You definitely need a van to collect this.

Considering it but think I'll go for an 85" ish they're still massive but way cheaper and I can probably fit it in the car / house and not need Eddie Hall to help me unbox it.

If it turns out to be faulty you'll need to hire a van again to return it.. (edited)
