Details

Decorated with a hint of purple and pink, Pokémon with the Fusion Strike Style often have attacks that focus on teamwork and reinforce the idea of strength in numbers, as Fusion Strike Pokémon generally benefit when other Pokémon with this Battle Style are in play.

In addition, Fusion Strike Style appears on Trainer and Special Energy cards, which tend to assist Pokémon of that particular Battle Style and allow players to build a Fusion Strike Style deck.

Arriving in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and special collections, Sword & Shield—Fusion Strike includes 25 Fusion Strike cards such as Mew VMAX, Genesect V, and Hoopa V. In addition, Trainers can play with the following cards:

Trainers interested in playing with the expansion before launch can do so with the Sword & Shield—Fusion Strike Build & Battle Box, available through their local participating Pokémon TCG retailer starting October 30, 2021.

The Sword & Shield—Fusion Strike Build & Battle Box contains four Sword & Shield—Fusion Strike booster packs; a 23-card Evolution pack featuring key cards from current and prior sets, including one of four alternate-art promo cards; and a deckbuilding tip sheet.

  • 20 Pokémon V and 13 full-art Pokémon V
  • Eight Pokémon VMAX
  • 20 Trainer cards and seven full-art Supporter cards
  • One Special Energy card

Honestly? You will almost certainly never make your money back from opening Pokemon cards. Think of it like a scratchcard: most of the time you lose your money. You're paying for the experience, the gamble, the endorphin hit.

Decent Price for This! Very unlikely to go below this price ever again. £140 in alot of other TCG stores

If you can pull the espeon, it's your money back, gengar would be double your money back pretty much. Chances of getting one is fairly low but could be worth a shot.

I think you can divide the Sword and Shield era into 3 parts:

    Early
Sword and Shield Base, Rebel Clash, Darkness Ablaze, Vivid Voltage
Tough pull rates, few chase cards, best cards are Rainbow or Gold and not worth much

    Middle
Battle Styles, Chilling Reign, Evolving Skies, Fusion Strike
Pull rates still rough but introduction of desirable Alternate Art cards which can be expensive

    Late
Brilliant Stars, Astral Radiance, Lost Origin, Silver Tempest
Pull rates feel better, more alternate arts, introduction of Trainer Gallery cards to give an extra chance of a good pull

Fusion Strike is in the middle of these: it's a good set with a number of high value cards but the pull rates are harsher than the more recent sets so be prepared for disappointment!

Fantastic deal here, price is great the cheapest price you will get boosters at - one of my favourite sets of Sword + Shield era and although it is difficult to pull a lot of the time when you do it feels brilliant as i was lucky enough to pull the VMAX alt art of Espeon from a Eevee Heroes tin and will continue to open this set. Think I have to buy at least one to hold onto

I've ordered two to keep long term, myself. Too good a price not to, given the upside potential

They’ve been trying to get rid of these for ages, picked up loads of packs for less than £2 before. Technically a deal but I’ve seen better booster boxes for this for around this price. They’ve printed so many I don’t think these will be worth much more in a few years, especially with the pull rate tbh.

I'm gonna disagree there tbh. They regularly sell on eBay for £120-130 and are out of stock a lot of places that would be significantly less than that.

Loose packs are less desirable in bulk so they aren't directly comparable to sealed boxes, due to ongoing fears of sifting and weighing, whether valid or not.

"Better booster boxes" is entirely subjective. Pull rates are lower than more recent sets but the value of more commonly pulled cards reflect this, with many V cards going for ~£1.50 pack fresh.

Ultimately, if you want to pull a specific card, the pull rate is just something you have to live with. It hasn't stopped boxes skyrocketing before - no reason to believe it will now. As long as there are desirable cards in a set, its booster boxes will ultimately increase in value as boxes get opened. I thought the same of XY Breakthrough tbh, which went as low as £80 a box at the time. Boxes have recently sold around £400-£500.
