For anyone still worrying about sending in a device with a different IMEI number to the one they put in when making the order, as I mentioned in my previous post a few pages ago, as long as the device you are sending in is not in another category, i.e you are not claiming a different value/device to the one mentioned in the original purchase then we are good. If you selected "any broken phone" then anything you send in will be ok. If anyone needs any confirmation then please see the response I received from Samsung when following up below. Hopefully this can put the doubts to bed and give some peace of mind to those still wondering.

25 watt is perfectly adequate, 45 watt overkill. Android Authority also found the charging speeds to be very similar when comparing Samsung's 25-watt and 45-watt chargers

For the £150 trade in i inputted my oneplus 6 imei and selected other broken phone( back glassis smashed). Anyone know if I can give them a samsung S8 broken phone instead? Do they keep a record of imei and what we chose if any broken phone was selected duringpurchase? Would be great if anyone has had experience with this.

Came off the phone with them earlier. As long as you selected any other phone it should be fine. Issues may arise if you selected a phone model and then tried sending in a different model phone as the valuation is different. For any broken phone option the only requirement is that the phone turns on whilst a charger is plugged in. Hope that helps.

The Clear case reviews sound bad so got Ringke as backup.

What if I returned the case, what happens with the 10% discount on the whole order total?

I mean this is the same for anyone who budndled with any accessory. How would the price difference be made up?
    Diabolik88's avatar
    Diabolik88
I think there's something in the terms and conditions that allows them to take back that discount through your payment card, just like how they deal with trade-in phones that aren't as described.

Just sell the case on eBay, if you take a small hit on it so be it as you still saved lots more on the phone discount

Wow just read the reviews on Google for MTR trade in's.

    Now I'm worried

Does anyone have any experience with them trading in?
    brumbum77's avatar
    brumbum77
I traded in a tablet with them last year and they were fine - no issues.

The main issue with the review sites is that mainly only bad reviews are left (no-one posts if they have a positive experience) - there are about 70 reviews on trust pilot but they must have dealt with many thousands of trade ins, so my hope would be that a very small percentage have a bad experience but the majority will be fine. Hello all,

Maybe someone can help regards to the trade-in. I have a small ink leak (hardly noticeable when in use) on my note 10 plus which I would like to trade in for the s23 ultra. When going through the checks on the page 'Is your device in good condition?' It does not mention ink bleeds or ink blots but the following instead:
    • Device powers on and holds charge
    • Functioning display
    • No signs of screen burn, ghost imaging, discolouration, coloured hue image retention
    • Normal wear and tear
    • No cracks to screen

It seems it should be fine, but has anyone had any experience with this before? Going to be a bummer if the phone becomes devalued even more.

    Thanks

I would assume that if the trade-in company can penalise you for condition, they will.

DISREGARD, TOTAL PRICE ON AMAZON IS £150 MORE THAN STATED. SEE COMMENT REPLIES.

For anybody concerned about this deal ending, the one on Amazon gives you basically the same price, albeit very differently. **Please correct me if I'm wrong**

Amazon £150 discount/512Gb upgrade, free Galaxy Buds2 (on sale for £79 until recently), £150 trade-in bonus on a much more limited selection of phones (to Gift Card instead of cash). 1249 - £150 - £79 - £150 = £870 in value.

Samsung gives you £150 trade-in bonus for literally any barely working phone, plus a big discount for the accessory bundle cheat, ending at around £870 again, but all cash. Possibly £36 in TopCashback but it'll probably be refused.

For about the same price, Amazon give you an extra year's warranty while Samsung give you more choice of colours and 1 month of accidental damage cover. I'll leave it up to you whose Customer Service you think would be better.

So if you actually want the Buds2, and would spend £150+ on Amazon, AND your phone is in their accepted trade-in models, arguably it's the better deal anyway. The offer is open to everyone too. (edited)

    Consider below though,

The Galaxy S23 Ultra shutter lag can be fixed easily but could impact picture quality

I have noticed that it affects the quality heavily in the low light. Normal lighting is fine.

    1. Search for Samsung S23 in google. Click on the very first link
    2. After the page loads click on Samsung on left hand side top of the page
    3. the page loads with a blue banner at the top of the page
    4. If it doesn't appear clear your browsing history including cookies.
    5. This will add 150 discount directly to your item when you click pre order on the banner
    6. Add in the trade in phone details
    7. after that choose the additional items in the list provided

    How I got a code:

OK what I did as I was annoyed no codes were working is to go online chat (sale part) and say I have a code, but it doesn't work, but I really want to pre-order the Ultra 23, and he said no problem. Asked me what colour I wanted and what size, and sent me a link to the basket with a code applied. And now I didn't check out, i just copied the code and have kept it for when I want to use it.

Those that are worried about little niggles or software glitches shouldn't worry too much. I have owned an S20 plus and current an s22 ultra. Both were preordered. They both had glitches upon delivery however from experience, Samsung fix these things very quickly. Be prepared for many software updates over the coming weeks.

Has anyone enabled the "protect battery" feature so it only charges to 85% to extend the lifespan of the battery?

I assume there is some science behind this. With previous phones I've always just gone to 100% and never really noticed the battery life being affected but I generally change phone every couple of years.
    Codify's avatar
    Codify
Pointless. Doesn't provide any protection at all with modern battery/charging tech. Plus even if it did, what's the point in using your phone only with an 85% capacity from the beginning when you could just use all 100% from the start - if capacity drops to 85% in a couple of years then you are in the same position
