    Stay away from IKEA chairs.

They're not the same as they used to be many years ago.
Mate's ancient 5-7 years Markus still going strong, while my ones....

Markus leather - Seat foam lasted about 3 months, occasional use (I don't even work from home.
Luckily had a mechanical fault as well so replaced for:

Markus fabric - Same problem 3 months and I was sitting on a park bench again.
Raised massive complaint and escalated to management (Karen!!!) and manage to get a replacement

    Replaced for
JÄRVFJÄLLET  - managed to be usable for 3 months... park bench again.
    Massive complaint once again.

Writing this from another Markus... which goes back again. This time got mechanical fault as well as sagging foam.

Why I'm still using them? Cause they will not refund me, only managed to get replacement, which wasn't easy

There are a lot of online reviews pointing to the sagging foam.

    BTW.
Ikea 10 years warranty is a joke

What is covered under this guarantee?
The guarantee covers defects in material and workmanship on the following
    parts of the work chair:
    • The structural frame
    • Moving parts

I thought ikea do full refunds upto 365 days? I’ve never had an issue getting refunds after 8 months of use.

Overrated chair, sat on one in IKEA not as comfortable as they're made out to be

Man some of y'all are hilarious. No chair is perfect for everybody. But these are NOT overrated, and all the countless people who love them and recommend them are not all just 'mistaken', smh (edited)

Had one for a few years, really not comfortable.

These are ok for the money. I had one for years and it did the job but the leather or whatever it is eventually wore out and looked bad.

I actually bought the fabric one as a replacement but it came missing a part during the pandemic so I couldn't use it. Ikea literally took a year to return my call to tell me they didn't have the part in stock and just refunded me. Fwiw the fabric version felt a bit cheaper than the leather style one.

I eventually bought a refurbished Herman Millar which is much better, but also much more expensive and it's still not perfect. I've been using it almost every day and it's comfortable but mine has been falling apart a bit, with foam seemingly deteriorating and falling out of the base, and things being a bit squeaky and rattley. Might just need a bit of a service, but frankly I haven't bothered to look at it.
That said, plenty of offices, including my own, use all Herman Millar chairs for a reason and generally they are considered very good if you can stomach the price. (edited)

Where did you buy your Herman Millar from and how much did you pay? Thanks in advance.

Seat goes hard very quickly, rest if the chair is quote nice. If you want comfort this isn't for you.

IKEA chairs are a waste of time and money, the padding or mesh on ALL of them bottom out.

The notion that you've actually bought and thoroughly tested ALL of Ikea's office chairs is so hilariously unbelievable, and yet people are still upvoting you anyways. (edited)

We have been using our 2 Markus for 6 years now, I'd say 60h a week easy. Still perfect. Before, we also had 2 Markus for 3 years, leather version, and we loved them too, although the leather was wearing out.
    Haven't found a better chair.

At this budget the Ticova chair over on Amazon is the much better buy for £140.

Not if like me you need seat depth adjustment. None of these generic chairs seem to have it. Which is a shame as otherwise they seem highly adjustible and good value.

I've been working from home on since COVID begin and love it. Gets 40 hours of use a week for work and then additional time for gaming.

These chairs are suppose to be really bad. I've wanted one for myself but many people have said not to bother.

Don't listen. Had mine 9-10 years and it's amazing. Fixed my back issues too. Worth way more than this in my eyes. I'll get another if mine ever dies.

This used to be a leather chair (and much cheaper too) now it appears to have been replaced by the JÄRVFJÄLLET chair and good luck telling the staff you're looking for that !

Had the leather version of this years of ago for about £99. High back was nice, but seat cushion less comfy than other office chairs. Wouldn't pay too much attention to warranty length either ... The leather head rest and arm pads split and looked awful after only around 15 months despite being rarely used. Store rejected warranty claim as only the structure is covered?

Had one of these for around 9-10 years now. It's been updated a bit by the looks of it. Fantastic chair. Fixed my back issues too. No complaints whatsoever. I'd but this but it's still going strong. Better than the gaming chairs my kids have had that fell apart and look awful. Well worth the money and easy to put together
