sorted byI've been using one in my Ryobi strimmer with no issues for the last couple of years.
Even try the newer 9Ahr non-OEM batteries (but only the newer ones with modified finger release tabs at the bottom of the battery so even small hands can remove them.….and go for the UK supplied ones with a 3/5yr warranty, about £35/40 on eBay, Still cheaper than Ryobi’s weedy 1.5/2Ahr batteries.
I use milwaukee batteries and an adapter with a couple of Ryobi tools
I saw this deal and thought bargain, I can afford that... need to buy. I have an allotment that is knee high in weeds and thought this would be perfect for getting it cut back to a point where I can start digging it over. Then I noticed that it was a 'bare unit' which I take from reading the comments means I need a battery and have to say I'm a bit confused!
I have a couple of battery units that came with a DeWalt cordless drill I purchased 10 years ago from Screwfix (posted on here on offer for £40) and wondered whether these might fit...I did apologise in advance if I'm asking a daft question! I'm a typical home DIY enthusiast, the drill is still like new and has had minimal use ergo the batteries are still in tip top condition. It was a budget DeWalt drill but it's met my needs over the years...
There are obviously people on this forum that are very knowledgeable in this field or at least they sound like they are! I would therefore be very grateful for their advice on whether these batteries would fit this grass trimmer? The drill's description is...
DeWalt DC756KA 12V 2.0Ah Ni-Cd Cordless Drill Driver
I guess it's the '12V 2.0Ah Ni-Cd' that refers to the battery? I hadn't really given much thought that these batteries are to some degree pretty interchangeable like your run of the mill AA and AAA household batteries.
If I'm able to use these batteries on this Ryobi then that would be great as I can afford it but if I have to purchase a battery then I may have to revert back to the manual method and use my garden shears
