You can 'upgrade' to this even if you are in an existing O2 Sim Only contract. I renewed a 12 month in November which therefor got hit by the RPI this month, so I've upgraded to this to bring it back to £8

Just did this via link above after direct from O2 only offering 15gb.

Do back on to my original deal of 20gb for £8.

Will my O2 volts be added automatically as I haven't needed to change my SIM or number.

    Can we upgrade to this
    pyroteki's avatar
Just go to checkout and it will give you the option to login and upgrade to this. Just done it myself.

This is ID mate. Not a similar deal at all

We’ve just changed both our existing sim only deals to this, save a couple of quid a month and took about 5 minutes to sort.
    greenant's avatar
Indeed, easily done. But to remind people they're locking themselves into another 12 month contract.

This time around (when my contract expires this month) I think I'll be switching networks. O2 has too many zero signal areas, even in towns. Hardly ever have these issues on my partner's phone on EE.

Followed VM link in op, it gave me 20gb and unlimited data and texts and Disney plus. Allowed me to login and switch my current deal to this. Wandering how they will charge my old tariff. Not sure if I was part way through a 12m contract or what. We shall see, it allowed me to upgrade so I am hoping nothing silly.
    anna.flanagan's avatar
I’ve done this before when part way through a contract. Your first bill will be a combination of the new contract and how many days used so far this month from the old contract as an amount of your usual monthly bill. It doesn’t matter how many months were left in your old contract, it will reset to 12 months from now.

Please don’t go with O2, they have rubbish internet coverage on 4G and 5G
    Waffles's avatar
Not in my area, excellent coverage and speed compared to all the rest.
  7. ricksrod's avatar
Can anyone confirm if you can choose the Amazon Prime extra with this or is it just Disney? Thanks
    nothingmuch's avatar
Option of Disney +, prime, audible, cafeyn
  8. trebor's avatar
Why is this deal so hot? Surly 25gb for £8 per month on a 30 day contract with a £20 Amazon voucher is better, on Virgin media, which is same company and network as 02!

    hotukdeals.com/dea…149 (edited)
    haa0518's avatar
Its hot because of volt. This deal with volt will mean double data, better roaming and better internet speed at home. So £8 = 40gb not 20gb (edited)

I haven't switched for a long time, and currently have 2 months left with Vodafone. Is this an easy process now? I assume I'd be charged the remainder of my contract (which is fine)?
    deleted531767's avatar
Vodafone are sneaky and also charge an extra early termination fee (or at least they used to). The main reason I never went back to voda.

I'm on this at the moment. Was £8 for 30GB and with RPI £9.38.
  11. KayJay89's avatar
What about the price increase, will this affect the new contract? Ta
    nothingmuch's avatar
April 24 price increase will affect the contract
  12. GONETOPOT's avatar
Already got a 12 month Disney+ sub, can the 3 months be stacked?
    redrhino's avatar
Yep - when you activate on o2 and then follow link to disney then using existing account email pauses your current sub and starts to use o2. Turn off auto renewal on o2 app and after the free 3 months your current sub kicks back in.

Link in the post doesn't work anymore
    Midge's avatar
It was there about 2 hours ago when I last checked

I suspect the link isn't working because of the massive Virgin outages today, its effecting all sorts of equipment over the uk that uses VM and in the last 2 hours some that have no direct connection to VM.

I would suggest trying again in a while.
  15. Spraders's avatar
Currently on 75gb with volt for £8 a month Increasing to £9.38 why has the data decreased so much on new deals
    Spraders's avatar
Must have been some offer have just checked and I have 15gb extra until July 23 otherwise I would be on the normal 60gb data for 8pm month with volt (edited)
  16. razam's avatar
If I'm already with virgin mobile, can i port my number to o2, or will it be refused bcz it's the same company?
    Parisian's avatar
    You can do.
  17. sleigh's avatar
How long do you have to activate disney? I'm already on 6 months free with Samsung
    Midge's avatar
28 days it says in my text from them.
  18. spursRus's avatar
Does this include the o2 travel inclusive zone? I tried finding out on the product page but it just takes me to a general using o2 abroad page rather than whether this includes USA or not.
  19. Bargainhunt's avatar
Sorry pls som1 explain how this deal beats vodafone 100gb aftercashback £8????
    itsadeal's avatar
    cashback isn't guaranteed.
    it's a different network.
    you get o2 priority.
re-contracting is saving current o2 customers money.
  20. ministokes's avatar
You can get 60gb £10 with smarty
    uF0n's avatar
I think most people are using O2 are also Virgin customers and want the Volt benefits, so going with Smarty is not an interest.
  21. gogboy's avatar
I’m just seeing 15gb via the link. I see uswitch Is also 15gb for 7.99

How guaranteed is moving from my now £9.38 free for 30gb to this and still get the data upgraded with no charge
    wolex's avatar
    guaranteed
  22. TheChamp's avatar
If I've got an O2 contract now, can I end it and just switch to this instead? If I'm out of contract of course on that initial sim.
    Sam223's avatar
as you go through checkout process, you can login to o2 and upgrade and select that you don't need a new sim. Simple as that.
  23. Venner's avatar
Had this deal past 2 years use the free coffee each week and use airtime rewards but o2 signal is rubbish at home but have WiFi calling.

Cant work out if it's worth changing to ID and losing airtime rewards and coffee but having signal at home.
    spankwilder's avatar
The drinks at Greggs are rubbish though, remind me of £1.50 truckstop drinks in those polystyrene cups ..even then, the last two or three times I’ve gone to use it the offer isn’t available.

The Nero drink on the other hand was well worth getting!
  24. welshdad's avatar
Just cancelled my O2 contract SIMO after 2 months, fee free. Never experienced soo many issues on 4/5G. Would show as available but not connect. Spoke to customer complaints who told me that there is an issue with some masts causing 'congestion'.
  25. El.Franko's avatar
if anyone's struggling with the site, call customer services. They just offered 25GB with 3 months Disney+ @£8 per month (subject to eligibility check)
  26. puffpastry's avatar
When I click the deal on the link page, i get a ‘something went wrong’ message on the o2 page?
    nazooom's avatar
I’m getting the same, got a WhatsApp chat going with o2 support…
  27. CloneRico's avatar
Dropped from my 15gb to this as I barely used any and have volt , will take the £1.90 monthly saving and 3 months Disney+ over the extra gb

Everyone will always moan about every network, it really depends on your location
  28. Midge's avatar
So if I read this right, if you go through the virgin link you get offered virgin contracts but are also offered O2 contracts.

If as an existing O2 contract holder who is free to upgrade I can choose the O2 option and then also as a V.M customer add the Volt benefits later.

As I have 3 contracts with them am I also allowed to use the "Loyalty" discount for the second and third accounts?
    gadgetcake's avatar
    Yes to all questions
  29. TheManFromAnotherPlace's avatar
Great deal, 30 GB with virgin BB. Waited until yesterday and then changed the tariff on all my O2 accounts and avoided the price hike
  30. cashman's avatar
Thanks op, been waiting for this to come along,.
just need the £6 one to come back now for the wife.😁
  31. srb_'s avatar
Amazing thanks OP I clicked the Virgin link there was the Same deal but with 20gb data went for that
    Player-1's avatar
Same just waiting for Volts to be re-added
  32. anna.flanagan's avatar
You can get 20gb for £8 a month and 3 months disney+ following the same link
    ThatGuyy's avatar
Can you still get the volt benefits this way though
  33. Who111112's avatar
Why do I see 20 gb for £8?
    MBCH's avatar
Cheers for noticing this…. Got this one, and should be 40gb with VOLT in 7 days 😃
  34. frieqs's avatar
Does this still include roaming when in the EU?
    deleted531767's avatar
    Yes.
  35. hdhani's avatar
Doesn't seem to work for existing customers
    Who111112's avatar
strange we have 2 contracts.. it worked and upgrade one no problem and the second wouldnt work.. Some error asking to try later or ring them.
  36. sus.mack's avatar
I was on this deal @ £8 a month with O2 - they'd recently put my monthly charge up to £9.38. So by upgrading just went back to £8... thanks.
  37. steviep93's avatar
Does this avoid the price increase? I am currently on the same plan but wna save the pennies
    JDDJ's avatar
I can't speak to O2 but I've just signed with virgin media and they've confirmed contracts from the 1st won't have a price increase until 2024
  38. GimmeMoreCoffee's avatar
Can’t delay your start date. It’s automatic on activation. If you are part way through another Disney Plus extra it restarts the 3 month clock from activation. So at most you can delay 28 days from starting the sim contract.
  39. DingoDirk's avatar
Doesn't seem to work for existing customers. A "sorry, something went wrong" message.
    Addy512a's avatar
Worked fine for me just now.

Managed to get this upon ringing O2 , extra 1p for another 10 GB, no brainer! (edited)
