Anyone know if this turns on automatically when power is applied? Would like to tuck it away in the car.

Not that I am aware of.
I have to turn mine on manually each time

Would that work on a TV with no 3.5mm to connect my soundbar wirelessly? (edited)

Is this similar to the Google Chromecast Audio? I bought a Google Chromecast Audio a few years ago but never used it so decided to sell it after seeing them go for between £40 - £50 on eBay! Can't remember why I never used the Chromecast Audio now but have bought one of these simply because it's £7.99!! which seems a bargain. Having a few Aukey products already I know it's a reputable brand and if this will allow me to stream from my phone to my old Technics amp bought back in the early 90's I'll be glad I never sold it!

Chromecast Audio far superior for home use. Can create groups and they use WiFi not Bluetooth. So better and far more stable connections.

These and Bluetooth better suited to being on the move.

    Ordered - thank you
Since the Bluetooth versions are so advanced on mobiles and car Bluetooth older version listing music via phone always a challenge. iPhone X was working fine with car music streaming, iPhone 12 don't.

Since then was looking for something like this but not cheap Chinese hardware from eBay, Aukey has made a mark to be reputable brand so thought will give a go specially for price - well spotted than you heat added.

I checked on Aukey website it works with car so fingers cross this is solution otherwise new car may be

    Nice price for an Aukey.

The pictures show only the audio cable attached, so does it have an internal rechargeable battery (hence the term 'portable') ?

Yes, you can recharge it by micro USB.

Does anyone knows if there's a lot of lag ? Could it be used to watch something? Or just music

I tried mine with my tv yesterday via it's bluetooth and a firestick and it was fine.

I tried so many of these things and the latency is always too high, but I'll give this a go. It isn't so bad if you stream from VLC on a PC as you can do manual latency compensation, but you do not get that luxury if you stream from anything else.

Yeah not sure I'd bother if I were you.. I have a few and they're great for audio, but not so good with video for sync reasons.
Still recommend for the price, but expect lipsynch to be out

Might want to update the title from UKEY to AUKEY, I thought at first it was a knock-off imitation of AUKEY who are a decent brand.

This could be handy to get an older surround sound working. :/
