Amazon prime student offer but I'm not a student

Hi all

Looking at my Amazon account it's offering me Prime student free for 6 months then £4.49 a month thereafter. Bit odd as I'm not a student. Is there any issue with me redeeming this and using it despite not being a student?!

Amazon is a very big company and they themselves have offered it to you although you are not a student . I am sure they can shoulder it and I don't see any problems occurring. Obviously they would like you to continue with paid prime membership after your free six months are over. They won't loose sleep if do not continue.

Unusual scenario but has been asked on here before, when the poster stated no subsequent issue in accepting the unexpected offer.

I had this about 4 years ago, used it as a "student" for 3 years until they said I had reached the limit of student prime .

    Go for it

Should be fine, I got 3 years student Prime even though I wasn't a student and didn't have any issues. Got 6 months free then the rest half price.

Lucky you receiving the offer. (edited)

Ah I got to the sign up page and that's where it was asking for proof and an education email address. Close but no cigar

Oh what a shame. They never asked me for proof I simply had to tick and box saying I was student, and the student Prime started.

They might ask to see your university attendance record and any assessment grades etc.

Join the other 99% of Prime Student members that are not students

How do you sign up without a student email?

You are a very rare breed OP - the rare HUKD member who is not a "student" when it comes to grabbing discounts.

I was offered 6 months free trial, then usual low rate for continuous membership as a student. My last education establishment attended was almost 40 years ago.
Needless to say I took up their offer, and I am about to have to start paying again.
I see no reason that students should get discounts that I cannot.

A Amazon prime student account is for 4 years? Next year, 2024, going to have to make a new account

That's what I thought but, even though I signed up in October 2020, have received an email stating my student prime will expire in April 2023 so only two and a half years.

I had my prime student cancelled yesterday and went back to full price after 2 years 6 months. Contacted Amazon and they asked to send my student card photo to their verification email for getting the remaining 2 years. Any chance this would work?

    Thank you

I got this offer this evening. Perfect. Lucky B. Of course I signed up. Fool not too.

Just go for it. Why should students get a discount anyway? They would be the first to complain if other groups were offered perks but they were excluded.
    It's just discrimination
