I know you’ve head it all before on every o2 thread but their signal is so bad these days, you really need to find out if you can even use it where you live.
don’t even bother if in Newport Pagnell and the surrounding areas, terrible non-existent internet access.
smarty speeds for me are more than quadruple in certain areas.

Had my last contract with o2, never again!
Signal seemed okay for calls but data was the slowest I have seen and I have used talkmobile, Lebara and Lyca too!
The webpages even wouldn't load fully! Many times it wouldn't work! (edited)

I had my phone number stolen when using O2. i had several sim swaps to try and resolve it. and then after months of back and fourth. their conclusion was there was no fraud found, and that was it.

I don't know how similar carriers are to each other, but i was surprised that one of the biggest carriers were this useless. i don't recommend using them anylonger.

Did a speed test under the 5G tower near work.
    smarty 1.2gbps

So just to clarify if I get one of these at £6.99 a month and then add a Multisave my bill would be:-

    £6.99
    £5.60
    = £12.59 per month?

As I assume you don't get 20% off the first connection only new additions?

Currently with Sky and after increases paying £9.00 a month for 6 GB for two sims so total = £18.00 a month for 12 GB. (edited)

Multi save is only on any additional connections

Since returning to the UK from Australia I've been on O2. I live in Belfast where it has patchy reception but am just completing a large 16 day road trip through Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland and reception has been pretty poor at best. Is O2 generally the best that I can expect? Australia has far better reception even in the smallest and remotest of towns.

If your looking for the best speed and coverage I would say EE is best followed by Vodafone for 4G

If you spend alot of time in big towns and city's I would say Three wins on 5G Coverage and Speed

O2 seems to be heavy congested in most areas and is not great for Internet (edited)

I'm going to Italy next month for a few days, do I pay for phone calls and texts with this plan if I ring home from there?

    Were that deal bud?

Ditto. I just downgraded to the 5GB deal, and got yet another 3 months disney (Never paid for Disney, thanks to re-contracting with O2). The 5GB deal is still available, posted by and available here.
I re-contract every 3 months to save the £7.99 that Disney would cost me, and also to avoid the yearly tariff increases.

Don't fall for it! Biggest regret for me. Terrible network and I live in North London. Can't even use this at my home without WiFi calling.
  11. Cm_Down's avatar
After having no WiFi for 3 weeks and having to rely on my data I can only recommend never going with o2. I get 50% off and I feel scammed. It doesn't work most of the times and when it does it's excruciatingly slow

Will this be a fixed rate for the whole 12 months? I’ve only ever gotten rolling 30 day plans & just making sure before I pull the trigger on this deal?
    jnm21's avatar
You might face a price rise for your last month - around 7 to 12% would be my guess (I think o2 are still RPI + 3.9%).
  14. jellytotz's avatar
Would this o2 deal allow me to double up my Virgin Media broadband speeds? E.g 500 to 1G
    zxin's avatar
    Yes

Doesn't state 3 months of Disney . The 5gb for £6 which I had earlier in the week had 3 months of Disney and most of the other tarrifs do but this does not state it is included (edited)

    You watch Disney? lol

I didnt get the multisave discount. I think it's because the sim is already discounted.

You do have to apply for the discount to see if you can get it on additional contracts.
    Text
    LOYALTY
to 21500 and follow the instructions

Just went for the 15gb £7.99 tariff for my daughter. She had the 5gb boosted to 10gb with volt when I signed up for virgin media in August. With multisave I was paying £9.60, however it just went up to £11.25 with around 10 months left to go. So extra data plus a few bob saved. Don’t know if it’ll let me apply the 20% multisave as it’s an upgrade.
    jivinjo68's avatar
I went through Uswitch to renew but still with O2. Cash back and 20% multisave still.

Sorry how are people getting £6.99 a month , cheapest I can see is £10 . I don’t have multiple accounts ,thankyou .
  22. pfagan10's avatar
Showing as £6 for 5Gb now. Would this still qualify for volt?
  23. wakenshawj's avatar
Be very careful I got two new Sims last month and was told as I got them through the likes of uSwitch which still go though to the o2 website you cannot use multisave discounts.
  24. Paul1802's avatar
Anybody know if you can just pay the £84 upfront for the year on these plans?
