I have this package but didn't cancel the O2 SIM ☹️ It's a great offer but paying £25 a month to O2 is not, don't make the same mistake I did.
    sajidtg's avatar

You can still change your package.
Pick any O2 offer from HUKD and upgrade to it as an existing customer.
it will reset your O2 contract for another 12 months -
  2. L88's avatar
So if your getting it installed in 4 weeks, when do I have to change my o2 sim by? Within 2 weeks of the order or 2 weeks of it being installed?!
    Jonwillis's avatar
The O2 contract starts immediately, you have 14 days from your order to cancel it, you don't even have to wait for the SIM to arrive. So long as you have an email with the phone number, you can call and cancel.
  3. Stephan92's avatar
Do you know how much it becomes after you cancel the SIM included in this package?
    mikester's avatar
Can you cancel? Was paying £25 pm for the O2 Unlimited SIM but went up to £29 after CPI so tried to cancel with O2 and they said I'm tied in so couldn't cancel. Instead they reduced me to 5GB data for circa £12 pm. Not great but I don't really use the Unlimited data anyway. Really is like to get rid of the O2 SIM altogether but was told I couldn't..

How much extra is Ultra HD for Sky movies with Virgin?

Does this include the Sky Entertainment/Sky box sets? (edited)
    hairywaynus's avatar
I believe its 7 or 9 pound extra a month. I've got UHD sky sports which should've been 7 pound extra a month, but managed to negotiate them down to 5 pound extra a month.
I think they will let you have both the sky cinema/entertainment UHD upgrade, as well as the sport UHD upgrade for a tenner a month. Those were the costs early February anyway.

Do you get a mini box with this offer? Not displayed in the photo on Virgin (although it says ignore the photo of hardware) and doesn’t seem to be mentioned in the plan details. I know you used to get one though. (edited)
    Jonwillis's avatar
It says mini box in the description

    50004947-ghaU1.jpg
Last time they did the £85 deal when I had it you ended up with two TiVo boxes, I guess they didn't have the mini boxes back then

Well.. Ordered the bundle.. Got the email with O2 number. Cancelled the O2 contract without any fuss. Device arriving tomorrow. All fine till now!!
    Jonwillis's avatar
You had better luck than me, they silently cancelled my order, then again on my second order. By that they didn't process it, although they sent me a contract or was never sent to the installation team and they never email you to say it won't be processed. Finally after 2 hours on the phone they put it though.
Rang to call to cancel O2 SIM, 20 mins on hold each time, cut off multiple times. Finally cancelled but didn't get an email. Called back the following day to be told it wasn't cancelled after all. Finally got a cancellation email two days later than after about 10 days they still took £12 out via direct debit. (edited)

But if you cancel the sim probably u won't get the cashback?
    Mark_Hickman's avatar
I guess one of us has to try it out, im about to order and will be cancelling sim, hopefully top cash back only contact virgin to confirm i didn't cancel.
A few years ago i cancelled and signed up through quidco in my mrs name with £120 cashback.
Cancellations team called me a few days after and offered me an brilliant deal so i stayed 8n my name an cancelled my mrs sign up, still got paid £120 cash ack from quidco 6 months later so im hopeful (edited)

I ordered yesterday but received this message:

Your order has been placed but is on hold till we get your consent – you can contact the team for assistance or provide consent later through text, email or a phone call.

Has anyone also had this message?
    tho_nee's avatar
Yea.. Got this and another email for our consent later!!

50020603-t4o5i.jpgTook this deal yesterday, got o2 emails today & want to downgrade the plan, got this message, but I thought I'd be locked in after 14 days. Anyone know can I ring and change tariff, or will it let me downgrade on 20 May? Worked out well that I could leave virgin mobile contract early due to the upcoming merge with o2 in May, they just emailed last week.

I will also update on whether my topcashback gets rejected based on the sim tariff downgrade.
    sajidtg's avatar
    Author
    Try via Chat.
Failing to do that, you will be able to change / downgrade after 20th May anyway.
  11. L88's avatar
Have people had an email regarding the o2 sim or does it just get sent out? I’ve had confirmation from Virgin but nowt from o2
    Jonwillis's avatar
On different deal I had these after 2 days

I already have a o2 sim so would look to cancel the one coming with this to knock the price to £60. Does anyone know what that means for the bill credit and topcashback?
    tho_nee's avatar
LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS!
  14. Mark_Hickman's avatar
Would this still be 1gb bb if the sim was cancelled? Also i winder If you cancel the o2 sim will you still get 200 bill credit and top cash back ?
If you could cancel sim and still get those back it works out to £38 per month which is £1 cheaper than the call back team gave me for 1gb internet and 100 channels with no netflix (edited)
    Jonwillis's avatar
Depends if the contract is for 1gig or m500.

If it's m500 then when you cancel O2 it would take the 1gig back to m500
  15. L88's avatar
Anyone know if you can sign up and delay installation / start of contract somehow? I don’t move into new house for a few weeks
    L4D's avatar
    yes possible
  16. MØĐ3RNS4V4G3's avatar
Didn't see this until now, it really is a great deal 🔥
    Mark_Hickman's avatar
I ordered last night and the £197 cashback has tracked going to cancel sim and hope the cashback still pays out, doubtful but im willing to give it a try
  17. teerex's avatar
Cancelled within 14 days and didn't use the sim at all. I asked for confirmation of the cancellation and received a poorly worded email later that day.
Some days later, I got an email saying I owed about £6 or so. I rang again and eventually I was told that the outstanding bill would be cancelled.
I've now received another email today saying that the full bill of £25 is outstanding and an additional fee of £6 will be added if I don't pay within 4 days!
    I hate o2
    emptypocketz's avatar
Yeah o2 can be exactly like that, get on them if they do take payment usually once they see its an overpayment hopefully they refund you correctly.

Seems good in practise but surely this will reach at least £100/m by next April 😬

Why is this going colder? 60£ for 1GB wifi + all sky channels + bt sports + Xbox for 60 a month. Imagine subscribing all separately My sky contract is ending next month and I was paying 50£ just for tv+ sky sports (edited)
    Jonwillis's avatar
The perks at work deal about 3 weeks ago, was 210 channels for £31 month.
No sky movies or sports, no xbox, 1 gig broadband, phone line, but no mobile (cancel the O2 SIM)
  20. Taksim_Red's avatar
Cancelled my O2 sim today. Whilst they didn't object, it took several phone calls and around an hour in total after struggling with their automated menus and being cut off several times including mid transfer to customer services.

Probably would've accepted 40Gb for £8 had it been available but they claimed it wasn't and most likely a third party deal (HUKD knows otherwise!) Instead all offers made were quite derisory including 10Gb for £12, 25Gb for £18 and 150Gb for £22 but with a £4 monthly discount.

Did consider ending the call and trying somebody else for the £8 deal but it'd already taken that long I was fed up and simply went through with the cancellation in frustration.

Still have my existing 200Gb O2 sim I'm now paying close to £25pm for which urgently needs switching to something less expensive. Any suggestions for something really cheap for someone

This O2 guys are effing unreal.. I made 3 calls asking them to cancel the contract and after 2 weeks, there you go.. the 1st direct debit is being automatically taken from my account..
    Jonwillis's avatar
I had the same issue, that reminds me I need to call them back. In what will probably be my 11th call to resolve it
  22. boomish's avatar
I did this last year & a good deal but the O2 sim was awful..
  23. Jonwillis's avatar
Just want to throw out there. I've had sky movies HD in the past on virgin and there compression/bitrate is really high. I thought it was running in standard definition not high definition. Sky seems much better in this regard, so in the end I never bothered to watch them and used Netflix/Disney instead. Not sure if they ever improved this.

Its not showing me any Volt offers through the Topcashback comparison any ideas what i could be doing wrong?
    L88's avatar
What do you mean volt offers?

    Go topcashback >

    Broadband compare >

Then make sure you change filters to show broadband and tv deals and then narrow it down by Virgin, and sort by order of most expensive and it should be at the top / near the top of the list. (edited)

Are people just receiving the sim or getting an email about the sim? I’ve had the Virgin email but nowt about o2 as of yet. Ordered yesterday.

I do have an o2 account already, is that going to be an issue? It’s about to come up to 12 months so I’m cancelling my old one and taking on the new sim with this deal @ £8 a month instead. (edited)
    tho_nee's avatar
Got a new sim through the post!!
  28. benji_1205's avatar
Gutted i only renewed my deal with Virgin about 1.5 months ago. Stonking deal if you can cancel the 02 SIM successfully
  29. Ddeane's avatar
So if you cancel the o2 Sim, you get this package for £60 pm?
    tho_nee's avatar
    Yes.. that's right
  30. hishaq's avatar
If I buy this can I delay the installation?
    retro1981's avatar
It allows up to 1mth ahead, I chose 19 may as BT ends a few wks after that
  31. tho_nee's avatar
Can anyone ordered this respond? Have you got the xbox with package?? I got the box but no Xbox in the package? (edited)
    tho_nee's avatar
It was always there in T&C

How long after ordering will I receive my Xbox?
Exertis will send your Xbox out 28 days after you’ve had your Virgin Media services installed.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the top cash back to poll?

Or has it polled for anyone yet, without it its almost not worth it.

I signed up last night got email this morning to say cash tracked

50023017-Dq9j7.jpgWell... Showing M500. So cancelling the O2 sim potentially will drop your speeds.
    L4D's avatar
where did you notice the change ? updated in account or just the speed dropped?
i did cancel o2 part and still at volt speed( different volt deal)
  34. Taksim_Red's avatar
Would it be a good idea to cancel the sim via PAC code or similar method? eg. Request a PAC from O2 and port your new number to another network. At least then you can be certain the cancellation has gone through.
    Jonwillis's avatar
You need to be sure they cancel it using 14 day cancellation rights so they waive the termination charges. O2 did mine wrong and sent me a bill for £195
  35. tho_nee's avatar
Anyone who cancelled the O2 sim can confirm whether you getting 1GB speed and the cashback?
    Mark_Hickman's avatar
They wouldn't know because you dont get the cashback for like 5 months and im guessing 5hey could realise and drop the speed down to 500 at any time in the next 18 months (edited)

If this comes around again can existing customers switch to it ?
    Jonwillis's avatar
You need to leave and sign up again as new customer. New customer can just be someone else living at the house, like a partner.

Retentions might call and offer the same deal.
  37. skip112's avatar
Can anyone advise with this sports bundle do you get access to the BT SPORTS app to watch mobile on there too?
    Stephan92's avatar
Would like to know too :/
  38. emptypocketz's avatar
Had the run around myself and no £8 per month for 20gig data (40 with double volt) I just showed the o2 guy via chat a link of uswitch £7.99 15gig deal here and he automatically said I can do that for you so did it.

We missed the 20gig/40gig volt deal sadly it looks like.

I had to still contact o2 3 times this week they appear to be taking ages to action my Pac code so I can get my old number onto the new o2 sim, been a nightmare trying to flip sims back and forth in the end had to call them and they manually filled in the form and gave me this Tuesday, at least this way I got an sms text to confirm its happening, not sure what happen to the 1st 2 pac attempts!

Their o2 site says they can change it next working day lol
  39. teerex's avatar
    Hope this comes back
  40. tho_nee's avatar
Called again and they said I will get by money back as O2 credit and can transfer that to bank account. The customer service operator said I should have cancelled the direct debit..
    bargainhunter666's avatar
They tell you not to cancel DD but I cancelled mine as no credit or debit due. If cancelling within 14 days AND not used then I'd say obviously cancel DD.
Side note - app now says we can see you've cancelled O2 contract. Volt benefits still apply.
