this is a great deal for a 4TB 2.5inch portable HDD. according to my research on youtube, inside it is a blue label Western Digital 2.5inch HDD with SATA connector. plus there is a cashback from topcashback for this retailer, mymemory.co.uk

I had a bad one, copied files to it seemed ok. But everytime drive was unplugged and booted all written files were corrupted, it also had to rescan/find & fix problems on every boot. so drive would not be available for about 15minutes. intenso were not replying to emails so amazon refunded and took it back after about 10 months.

what would have been better is to fix the faulty drive rather than trash it. What usually happens is the read/write head gets stuck. he should have tried the drive in another sata controller after he dislodged the read write head.

Often the power/controller goes faulty but there is nothing wrong with the drive - putting the drive in another assembly sometimes solves the problem. It certainly has done with my Mybook WD external drives.

I was surprised to sea a wd blue in an intenso drive - the WD Blue drives are usually very reliable - it could be Intenso have a special purchase of a bad batch. (edited)
