This looks a good deal , how good is this extender or just I just buy a decent router to bridge from the bt/Plusnet hub 2 router

I have the RE605x. Ideally you want a mesh router with these. I have a couple of RE550's as well and get over 200mbps all over the house from my 300 fibre. The house is a decent size hence why I have 3 extenders. Could maybe get away with 2 extenders but one acts as a bridge for my home office.

Mine has just arrived and says its version 1 on the box. I can't see anywhere online the difference between v1 and V2, does anybody know? Not sure whether to send it back or not.

There isn’t a V2. There’ll always be a v1 just in case they need to make a modification (use a different chip supplier for example) but most of the time they’ll just release a new model.

What you will also get is firmware versions which are updates that enable features and fix bugs. This can be done via the settings menu.

Box had it for £45 this week but that went OOS and it’s OOS in quite a few places. There’s an uglier 705X due for release so this might be a stock clearance price.

Ideally you want to be pairing it with a supported TP-Link router

Had one and returned it. Issues with FW and device battery drain.

Ended up going with the RP-AX58 from Asus. Much better
