sorted by- WafflesI think that looks like a good deal too but only when bought with this.
- matty2767Would this have enough power to charge a MacBook?ChAdOx1It will charge but very slowly. If you try to use the macbook while “charging”, the battery will still lose charge.
I would recommend at least 60W charger for macbook - androidavisI don’t see much point in getting anything over 20w if it’s for those times when you need to charge an iPhone as quickly as possible. I believe my wife’s phone is at around 17w when fast charging. Btw, only fast charge if it’s a necessary situation. For over night full charges just gently do it at 5w or even 12w is better for iPhone batteries than maximum blast. (edited)Davidmrb93The charge speed doesn't really affect battery health btw, as long as it's not overheating. It's what % you charge to that's the problem, 0% and 100% are unstable to lithium ion batteries, so keeping as close to 50% as possible will aid in better battery health
Depending on how long you need the phone to last ofc so this vary from person to person most recommended keeping between 20-80% (edited) - Often_on_againI work at the border examining goods and checking authenticity. These are being sold directly by Amazon so really ought to be genuine. Would be very interested to hear if they are not.Rayzerr_Firebut is the seller not by "apple"?
- michaeljbI hear apple are going to limit charging speeds on the new iphone this year if you don't use an official apple charger and cable, anyone know if these chargers already contain the necessary hardware to charge at full speed on those new devices, or am I going to need to buy another charger once those phones come out?Bradders_I think you’re referencing them throttling USB-C speeds to apple/MFI cables/plugs. If they even do that (EU won’t be happy) then these will likely still be ok as they’re official apple ones and not third party ones. All speculation of course but highly unlikely they’d go back and throttle their own equipment.
- DevilWithinCan anyone recommend a decent cable to use with this?MariussxAnker cables are good - using this one for 2 years now
Anker USB C to Lightning Cable, 321 USB-C to Lightning Cable (6ft,White), MFi Certified Cable for iPhone 13 Pro 12 Pro Max 12 11 X XS, AirPods Pro, Supports Power Delivery (Charger Not Included) amzn.eu/d/0…mle - chapsukYou can get 2 Anker 20w ones for the same price atm
Deal: USB C Plug, Anker 2-Pack 20W Fast USB C Charger, PowerPort III 20W Cube Charger for iPhone 14/14 Pro/14 Pro Max/13 Pro/13 Pro Max, Galaxy, iPad (Cable Not Included) amzn.eu/d/5…Ahh (edited)rodmanBut it doesn't come with the Apple logo. - RayleighApparently amazon commonly sell fake chargers so I stayed in the safe side and spent the 19 quid to get it directly from appletakerMy reason for buying Apple products from Currys / JL / Apple.
- Currey20Thanks, ordered, but.. delivery isn’t for 1-3 weeks, didn’t realise when I initially orderedRossmor40I bought the Anker nano pro last month because of the delivery times on the official Apple charger. It’s got same review score.
amazon.co.uk/dp/…ils - lunchbox7Good price but a bit short on power, would rather pay a few quid more and get 30watt fast charging...
hotukdeals.com/dea…917colin79666I got the Anker Nano 3 which is 30w from their eBay refurbished store last week. Arrived basically as open box but the charger was new looking. Cost less than this too but £14.99 is a good price if you want the Apple charger so I’ll still give it heat - SaunderveltWhy not pair it with this...hotukdeals.com/dea…793MikeWard1701Got a few of these, grest for the price.
- ricebayThanks OP
- TwoJsThese are £15 in CEX if anyone is interested or has vouchersUsnaviHamiltonCex are second hand - similar can probably get them cheaper at a car boot sale
- vzertThanks I’ve ordered one I’m currently using an Anker charger for my IPad Mini 5 and I use a wireless pad for the IPhone 11. Should probably have the official charger after some years
- Dazlad44ShahintrDefinitely the better charger imo but the design of this is poor, American style with a UK plug grafted on. This will be annoying to take off and plug in. Add in the shocks.
- One234FiveHey everyone
While we’re on the subject of chargers, does anyone know of, or can recommend a good travel charger (doesn’t have to be a beefy GaN 10000w) but at least 2-3 USB to use in North America / Canada?
It’s to (fast) charge 2 iPhones and an Apple Watch
Thanks - stefanjuliaThis idea is a shame, Apples haven’t dropped the prices on their phones, removed the charger and they charge you for it.
Rotten Apple and all the companies that are doing this. - itsallsotiresomeThey like to make out that the reason they don’t include an essential item that everyone who buys a phone needs for the phone to even work is actually for YOUR benefit - and even your children’s and their children’s!! and nothing to do with them making c£20 a pop extra on every purchase.
- RouWas waiting for this to drop had one already and seriously fast
